Question for anyone who has (or has used) one of the dopplers for HB...

Im trying to decide whether to buy one or not. I think I bought one with my 8 yr old son (maybe  bebe sounds or something) and if I remember correctly it wasnt worth a poot. Does anyone have a good brand that they can recommend?  Ill probably drive myself crazy with it if i dont get  hb, but my doc said i can come in anytime, so, thats reassuring. :)  And also, whats the earliest it detects the HB? Thanks in advance ladies!

I tried mine last night and got discouraged when I could only find my heartbeat.  Before we went to bed DH wanted to try and we found it.  We listened for 10 minutes probably.  The heartbeat was in the 150s.  I can't wait to try again tonight.

Hi,
I'm 21 weeks and at 11 weeks I bought one off of Ebay. It's a Sonotrax Pocket Fetal Doppler, it has the handheld part that has a loudspeaker and it has the screen that shows the heartrate and the gel and wand like my Dr. uses. It's 3 Mhz. I paid $99 for it. And I love it!!! I NEVER have a hard time finding the baby within 3 seconds! With my son, my cousin let me borrow her Bebe Sounds from Walmart, we couldn't hear anything until my last 2 months. Not worth your $20.

I bought the Hi Bebe doppler off of ebay for like $120. Best thing I could of ever bought! I heard the heartbeat nice and clearly from 10 week on. It also has an screen that tells you how fast the heart is beating. After my miscarriage I was afraid that something would go wrong and I was bleeding the whole beginning of my pregnancy that I needed something to reassure me that everything was ok. This did the job all the way until the very end. Anytime I was worried that she wasn't moving enough I could check her heartbeat and hear that she was still with me. Saved me a lot of random trips to my doctors and L&D.

I've ordered one and it was delivered today, so I'm waiting to get off work and run home and try it.  I bought mine and it is a Sonotrax II or something like that.  DH said was against renting and said we can either sell it when we are done or keep it for another baby or for other babies in the family.  With 2 previous losses, I worry all the time with this pregnancy.  I don't feel pregnant and I want a doppler to reassure myself, but then I hear it's hard to get the hb sometimes.  OB's office said not to get discouraged and if I can't find it then I can come in and they'll try.  But, I thought it'd be more convenient for me to try in the comfort of my own home, than running to the doctor's office and having to wait, etc.

Well, I rented the one from babybeat and it's $33 a month.  It's pretty awesome.  I got it when I was ten weeks and found the hb right away.  Now I'm 14 weeks and my DH wants me to return it.  He says " that's it the baby is there and he's ok"  LOL.  I told him no... I want to hear it when he's bigger.
