Question on Discharge,

Okay, I've been taking this stupid metro-gel stuff for bacterial vaginosis.. Well, there is really no way to put this without tmi, so be warned.. lol  anyways, I looked up symptoms on it, and, I don't know if the medicine is causing a yeast infection or what, or if one had started... But, sometimes with the gel, there is this yucky looking white clumpy stuff, it really freaked me out the first time I saw it because it looks so weird... I asked my mom about it and her logic was that it's "getting rid of the infection" but somehow, I don't buy it ? The only type of infection I saw, that had this type of discharge as a symptom, was a yeast infection. Does that mean I will need to be treated seperately for that, and how would I know?? I don't have any other symptoms of either, although right before I started the medication I got irritated/itchy, just once, and ended up all swollen on the left side :( Apparently that is associated with yeast infection too..? Well, I want everything to be gone, and all cleared up.. I'm not done with this medication, there still must be a few days worth left in the tube.. so i planned on waiting until after it's done and see what happens. But I don't want to let a yeast infection go unnoticed, but I also don't want to call and talk to the on-call nurse about all this weird stuff. I'd rather speak to my doctor, who is of course, busy because he's a doctor. so any opinions or experiences, first?

Well, that's good to know.. I wonder why the heck that white **** gets mixed in with the gel.. it's creepy.. Hahah.. my mom apparently had the treatment when she was pregnant with me, and she was trying to tell me not to worry, but of course i did! lol

Don't sweat it! I had the same thing when I was pregnant with my 2 1/2 yr old. When I got the discharge after treatment, I freaked out. It was after hours, so I bagged it in a baggie and my husband carried me to the ER. We didn't know what to think. There was no odor and it was white in color. Just a big ol' clump of yuck! Turns out, after being evaluated, it was the gel passing. I never got so many weired looks when I walked in with that baggie......lol. I figure it's better to see for themselve than for me to try to explain it.
