Really bad sore throat

I've been sick for a week now. I was told I had the flu and could not take any medication for it because im pregnant. My throat has been killing me since thursday and it keeps getting worse. It hurts when I swallow even water. Im 30+1 is there anything I could take to get rid of this.

I'd check with your doctor if you have any kind of infection if it is not going away. There are some antibiotics you can take that is safe for the baby. I just found out I have tonsillitis and I am 6 weeks pregnant. The doc put me on meds that is safe for the baby. Other than that, tylonel for pain.

Robitussin DM is safe. Gargling with warm salt water is supposed to help also, but it's gross. Cough drops, tea with honey, and the salt water.gargle is how I dealt with mine.

Thanks ladies for your input I appreciate it. I was going crazy. Now for the robitussin is it a special kind? Im going to the store now to get some peppermint tea. Thanks again.

Oh my god girl I feel you. I am 29w1d and I have been sick since thrusday but was out of town on an work trip until 6 last night. I was supposed to be at work at 7 this morning and had to call off I have been in bed all day with my heating pad on my back because I ache so bad. Sorry you feel yucky

My doctor said cough drops, tylenol and robitussin. And for allergies claritin. Not claritin d, just claritin. I just had the bad throat where I couldn't swallow. It's now turned to stuffy nose with yuck. It's making me cough so I'm going to get some robitussin.

Yes, and my docs okayed chloroseptic spray. I also like a little peppermint tea with honey, honey is a natural cough syrup.

You can take cough drops and use vicks on your chest
