Smoking

Just found out I was pregnant and I smoke cigarettes Im well aware of the effects it can have on my unborn child. Its hard to quit and my bf is getting impatient and upset with me because of it. What can I do to kick this habit?

I smoked for 11 years about a pack a day some days more and I'm proud to say I been smoke free since I was 13 weeks all I did was give myself a cut off date (13weeks) and slowly started cutting down sharing cigs with my hubby then only taking a few drags then only a few drags off of a few a day and just made it a weekly goal to cut down little by little oh I found out I was preggers at 5 weeks so it gave me 8 weeks to quit I did replace smoking with dum dum lolly pops lol that also helped a ton

You should try those fake cigarette things. Don't know the name, but I know they have less nicotin.

I am 35 weeks. My daughter is measuring 10 days behind and I have a grade 3 placenta which most moms dont get till they are full term:( because of my smoking habbit. I have switched to the e cigarette but still occasionally have a drag or two off a real one. I know its a hard habbit to quit. So hard. And honestly the only thing to keep me from going insane is to sleep all day... Just keep trying to cut down and look for things to keep u busy. Goodluck hun

Don't stress about quitting I will probably get alot of crap for this and I'm sorry to ones who don't agree with me! Stress on you is stress on baby I dunno if your boyfriend smokes or not but I was smoking almost a full pack a day til I got pregnant and I cut down to a half pack by myself but just couldn't kick it infact for some crazy reason I wanted to smoke more!! My midwife just urged me to cut down but to not stress! So after cutting down as much as I could my hubby (who don't smoke) and I took vacation for a week and we had so much fun and stayed so busy a cigarette was the last thing on my mind before I know it I went a week without even a hit of a cigarette!! Its still so hard at work because most of my friends there smoke and I'm in the habit of going out at certain times of the day :/ but I try to stay strong and eat instead of smoke I'd be lying to say I don't mess up sometimes (bout once a week at work) but better than a pack or even a half a pack!! My midwife also stressed to not replace a snack or food for a cigarette!! Make sure you get all your needed calaries!!

I am 32 weeks and was a heavy smoker before I got pregnant. I quit cold turkey the day I found out. It wasn't so bad at first, but now it's getting a lot harder. I don't know many ways to help kick the habit, but I do know mind over matter can be a powerful thing. Especially when you have your little one inside you.

I smoked until I was about 6 weeks pregnant. I stopped because I had severe morning sickness and the smell of it made me want to hurl. So it was pretty easy for me. I don't wish horrible morning sickness upon anyone but maybe you will start hating the smell of it.
