Successful Pregnancy with low hcg?

I am 20 dpo's .  I had a blood test on 14 dpo's and i was at 30.  I had another test 5 days later and at 150.  I have been seeing a fertility dr and after speaking to them today i am VERY depressed.   They said the numbers were low.  Has anybody had a similiar situation  ?  If so can you please share your experience.  I take another test tomorrow and get the results thursday afternoon.  I feel like i am going crazy !!!!

again as i have said in other posts....my hcg level was only at 83 when i was almost five weeks pregnant....im now 20 weeks...so my guess is your numbers are better then mine...sometimes doctors say more then they need to...i am going to say youll be fine...and trust me when i say that...everyone is different...as long as your numbers are going up and not down...then you should be fine!! Dont worry yourself...stress is NEVER good espically for you or the baby....just relax and enjoy your pregnancy!! It tends to flow more easy when you do!! :) hope that makes you feel better hun!! any more questions you can just ask or pm if you need to talk!!

Usually when your hcg is dropping it means the pregnancy is not doing well.  However, there are women whose hcg levels rise slower and their pregnancies turn out fine.  Doctors usually go by "doubling every 72 hours".  The American Pregnancy Association has this on their site:

"Caution must be used in making too much of hCG numbers. A normal pregnancy may have low hCG levels and result in a perfectly healthy baby. The results from an ultrasound after 5 - 6 weeks gestation are much more accurate than using hCG numbers."

You can find more information from their site here:  http://www.americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html
