im preg with twins and did not start growing a lot until after the 1st trimester....and ive had babies before so i would grow much faster because my uterus has been stretched
the one thing i have learned from being preg with twins is that identical twins are not genetic....you dont have to have twins in your family to be preg with identical twins....faternal twins are genetic
im sorry i cant be of much help but honestly at 10 weeks it looks like a lot of bloating which is totally normal....good luck at your appt on monday
No we ended up finding out I have other problems which caused me to get big n not have a period. I'm TTC now on I'm on clomid
So are you having twins?? Its so exciting!!!! Congrats!
I have a friend who gained pretty much all of her weight within the first trimester...she seemed like she was going to be HUGE, but she hasnt grown since then!....Bloating is more severe at the start for some people so your bloat just turns into baby after a while :)
The only way to know if you're having twins is an ultrasound.
I had twins and well I had friends who were a LOT bigger than I was and they had 1 baby.
I'm with Ashelen on this one. First it's really hard to determine if you look big for 10 weeks not knowing what you looked like when you started out. But second, at 10 weeks that belly would NOT be baby. You COULD be having twins, but I think a lot of that is bloat because, as Ashelen said, your uterus is still mostly behind your pubic bone at this point.
Ya as far as I know I'm 10 weeks and 6 days, I go to the doc Monday, I don't want twins but if it happens it's okay but we are just excited for one!!
Are you sure your only 10 weeks? I mean you can tell between someone just being puggy and being pregnant and your belly looks pretty firm, You dont even have creases around your belly button! As a few have said before me it could be bloating but to me you look futher along than 10 weeks.. And Lesley27 is right, your not BIG, YOUR PREGNANT!!
I picked that you look big for 10 weeks... I think it should say you look very pregnant for 10 weeks instead...cause your not big your pregnant :)
could be...but I hate to be the bearer of bad news: at 11 weeks, even with twins, your uterus is barely above your pubic bone (and the babies together would be maybe 2, 2.5 inches each)...so what your seeing is the result of mostly bloat and organs being moved around by the expanding uterus. and some women PUFF a lot...I pretty much did the same thing with my first pregnancy and she was a singleton. We have twins in my family, fraternal, so I thought for sure it was twins...but..nah.
tummy size isn't usually a good indicator...I've started out with a pretty flat stomach with all of my pregnancies and turned into gigantor by the end of my first two. I'm already quite big with this pregnancy (#3) at 13.5wks, but most of it is bloat.
but like I said..it could be! and with a family history of fraternal twins you do have a slightly higher chance...can't wait to hear what the ultrasound says on monday! good luck!
my moms side is fraternal... i dont know when i get my ultrasound, im hoping monday when i go in she will be like we can do it today! its my first visit bc it took forever for me to realize i was pregnant.
What type of twins does your mothers side have-- your fathers genetics mean nothing in regards to twins.
you def look pretty big for this being your first pregnancy
what side of the family are the twins on
when will you be having an ultrasound
we have twins on my moms and dads side and we also have identical and fraternal twins...my family says its my genaration but i was hoping it would hit my brother!! LOL
Which sides do these twins run on? Identical twins are nothing more than chance and genetics have nothing to do with it. Fraternal twins only matter if it runs in your mothers family, as it's the females genetics whether or not you release more than one egg.
