I heard that if your doctor doesn't rush your pushing then there's a less chance of tearing but I'm not quite sure, express your fears and concerns with your doctor just so you won't be so scared and ease your mind

I didn't tear at all but my son was significantly early. It still burned and was sore for awhile. It's nothing a little Tylenol and baby holding can't fix :) you can help by doing keels and later on perineum massaging... Google it

I tore and I didn't feel it at all. Possibly cos its so stretched its like a relief when it tears? I'm not too sure but each person would be different :)
I'm also worried about tearing again with my next but my midwife said to control my breathing. So instead of doing big pushes, control it and do lots of smaller ones. Sort of like panting. She said it eases baby through rather than trying to get out in like 3 big pushes. And try relax not stress (hard I kno) So im going to try that, as my first came out rather quick with her hand on her head -_-

I tore with my daughter and I didn't think it was that bad. It's more painful the day or two after. I had my daughter only 12 days ago and I've felt normal down there for at least a week and I attribute my downstairs success to evening primrose oil. I started taking it at 36 weeks and it helps with stretching during labor and I believe it helped me a lot. Ask your doctor about it :)

I also tore with each one of my pregnancies. After my first one I could have swore I heard the doctor say "it was pretty bad" but I can't be sure because it was overwhelming after pushing for 45 minutes. I dont think you can prevent tearing. You have a watermelon coming out of a lemon lol. But I didn't really feel it until a few hours after baby was born. It hurt to walk and sit down.
