Temping Question! NEED ADVICE!

Once again, I need your help ladies. I had positive opk's Friday and Saturday (which should have meant that I ovulated Sunday) but here it is Monday morning and my temp was lower than it was Sunday morning. I know this means that I didn't not ovulate. Is it usual that ovulation is delayed or does this mean that I am not going to ovulate at all? I have another doctor's appointment on Wed to check all of it out (due to the fact that I had a positive opk at the beginning of this month and never ovulated) but I was wondering if this had ever happened to anyone else?

By the way, I didn't mean it to sound like you only tracked your temp today and that's it, I realize you've been tracking for a few months, but don't get worried that just today's temp doesn't seem right - see what happens the next couple days.  Some of my temps were off, too.  Look at my ovulation tracker if you want. :-)

I noticed you were only going by today's temperature, that you noticed it was too low to confirm your Positive OPK.  In my short experience with temping, you can't go by just one day's temperature.  I know I had days that fluctuated because it was hotter or colder in the room or for other reasons, too.  I'd say watch the temps for at least a few days to see if maybe today's temp wasn't exactly accurate.  I also think I had a temperature dip before it stayed up after I O'd, and I still got pregnant.  Good luck! :-)

Well from what I know about OPKs, it is best to take them in the evenings but at the same time.  I took them once and I kept thinking I was getting a + but then I read the directions in better detail and saw that I was assuming I was getting a + because I saw 2 lines but I hadn't read that one line had to be as dark or darker than the other.  I also thought you could take them w/ FMU and then read that it is best to take them in the afternoon or evenings.  That's why I thought you may have read the results wrong.

If you are informed /w your temping then that is good.  I do feel it is the best way to determine whether or not you have ovulated, but there are always things that can alter your temps, such as being sick and a time change, etc.  I just feel that if your temps are staying low, then you aren't actually ovulating, so the Provera and Clomid should help you w/ that.  Since you have been pregnant before and have kids already, I just feel like your body may need a jump start, which these medications will help with.  I have a feeling that once you start this regemine (sp??), you will get pregnant pretty quickly.

Please keep me posted and don't forget that I will help answer questions if I can.

Hi again. The doc told me that I was going to ovulate or had within those 3 days (3/22-3/25) I got my positive opk on the 3/24-3/25. I have had no rise in temps (actually they are lower than usual) so I figured that either I didn't ovulate again (which happened at the beginning of the month too) or it was delayed. I have charted for the last few months and I do it every morning at 5:30 am. I do it before I do anything else (drinking, moving, talking, etc) I have read everything on the internet on the subject and people seem to have different opinions about it. I think I might have some kind of defect. I have noticed the last 2 days I have an intense headache too. I hope that I am wrong about it but I go back wed to have more blood work done and start provera then clomid if necessary.

I think temping is very accurate if it's done right.  Infact, I think it's the only way to know for sure (short of a blood test) that you have ovulated for sure.  But temping is normally also accompanied by other fertility signs.

The most important thing to remember about charting your temps is to do it at the same time each day.  If your temps aren't showing that you ovulated, then you very well may not have.  Didn't your doc say that you aren't ovulating right now??  If you are getting + OPKs and then your temps still aren't showing it, maybe the OPK is wrong or maybe you are reading the result wrong??  The digitals are probably the most accurate since you don't have to distinguish between lines, etc.  I, myself, never got a + OPK but I have no problems getting pregnant.  I am on #6.  I avoided pregnancy for a year charting in addition to observing other fertility signs and then got pregnant my first month of trying because I knew exactly when to do what.

I highly recommend looking at a site called Fertility Friend.  I love it and it gives you daily tidbits also.  I learned a lot from those.  Plus they have people on staff that you can e-mail anytime for questions about charting or helping you interpret your chart.  I loved it myself.

When charting, your temps should stay low until AFTER you ovulate; that includes the day you ovulate.  Your temps should rise the following day.  Once you have a thermal shift for 3 days, ovulation will be confirmed.

I never got a high temp... I had sex from Thursday on. I don't trust the BBT alone, but I had the same problem earlier this month with no ovulation. I will go to the fertility forum and ask just to see what the consensus is there. I never got a high temp at all so I am a little confused about the whole thing.

Do not, please do not trust the temps alone.  In a perfect world and environment and body the temp thing would be 100% accurate but IT IS NOT.  If I were you I would trust the opk because it measures the hormones that are surging in your body.  So you should have had sex on Friday, Saturday and Sunday because you probably did ovulate.
You may want to check in on the Fertility forum, I know that there's a lot of women in that forum that chart and do temps and opk's and all of the above and they will know better.  But its really hard to guess what you body is doing so have sex anyway.
If you ovulated on Sunday (which was your peak temp day right?) then you ovulated on Sunday and your temps would be lower today.
