Wanted to have one soo bad but where I live we don't do them an the closest one is Sacramento an that's a long drive wen I'm in labor so I don't get to do it an I'm sad about it cuz I have herd graaate things about it an yes babies have a dive reflex
The hospital I go to doesn't allow you to have a water birth because it's not safe anymore I'm not too sure how accurate that is they'd just what the doctor told me on my tour. You can get in the water tubs but not give birth in them
My Dr is happy for me to have a water birth, that's why there is an option to have it. They are trained in it just like a normal birth on a bed. Talk to you Dr or Midwife about it and see their views on it.
Goodluck.
I plan on using a birthing tub. I am also using a midwife.
The mid wives and Dra are there to make sure that doesn't happen to your baby (breathing under water) I'm having one and 100% trusting the mid wives and Drs because I know my baby is in the best of care :) I think it will be an amazing experience !!
I know plenty of ladies that have had a water birth and said it was soothing, they dim the lights and put music on if you like too :) but no negative things has been said about any of their experience!!
Babies have a dive reflex and they get there oxygen from the umbilical cord until the umbilical cord hits air and that's when it will stop providing oxygen to baby. Most doctors will not do or recommend water birth, if you want a water birth you will have to go through a midwife or doula.
Like if they happen to breathe in water
Everything I have read has been positive what do you mean by damage by water?
I want to have water birth, but read some risks, like damage from water. Im talkin to my doc on the 6th
