Your first is confirming your pregnancy so blood work, urine and all and also most likely ultrasound so they can see baby and see how far along you are.

Your husband is more than welcomed there! They talk to you both because you're not the only one expecting a baby, he is too..it's actually a very good bounding time with your husband or boyfriend there. I'm ftm and almost 20 weeks. Your first visit is just really a lot of questions and you might get to hear your baby's heart beat (another reason for dad to be to tag along.) and then set up another visit for your first actaull obgyn and than another to see you in about a month and also, a ultrasound appt for you to see how far along you are and all. Congrats. :)

My first visit they registered me took my vitals, blood work urine test then tried to hear the babies heartbeat which they did.. you might still be early to hear or you might be able to hear it. It just depends on how to the baby is positioned.  Then they ask questions about both our sides and your health past. Also my hubby didn't come to the first he came to the second which was our first ultrasound so he didn't miss much!

You will be asked a lot of questions. They ask about the baby's father's side too so it'd probably be good for him to go. You might get an ultrasound every doctor is different and you might have some blood work(:
