Why she has pregnant like symptoms, could she be?

I have been asking around and both of us has been freaking out for awhile now. My gf is getting all the preg like symptoms even though she took Plan B within an hour after intercourse. and I do not know what to think of it except that she could be pregnant?

Here's what happened..

Period Ended: 6th or 7th
Intercourse (condom broke): 9th
Plan B: 9th (within an hour)
Plan B: 10th- No symptoms
Plan B: 11th- Abdominal pain
Plan B: 12th- Abdominal pain/Feverish/Chill
Plan B: 13th- Feverish/Chill/Tiredness
Plan B: 14th- 5AM Heart Burn. Through out the day feverish/chill/headache(afternoon)

The only thing I can remove from here as Plan B symptoms are abdominal pain and headache but rest def seems like a pattern of pregnancy symptoms to me from what i researched :(

Some of this seems like you both are over analyzing every symptom that happens, which could make them seem much stronger than they would be. Everything you've described has looked like symptoms of an illness (feverish, chills, weak feeling) and Plan B side effects. (bleeding, abdominal pain, cramping) I understand you're both scared and nervous. But this much stress isn't good for either of you. Especially her. It could do so much more damage to her body which in turn still stresses you out more. If you're this concerned, take her to see a doctor. They can do blood work which would end the guessing game. Honestly, I doubt she's pregnant. It's highly unlikely she would have ovulated that soon after her period ended, and plan B helps to stop your body from ovulating as well.

Another update:...Ok, she finally spoke to me...just told me that her discharge has gotten heavier along with cramps and feeling really weak since monday evening. She described her blood smelling like sweetness..chocolate and smells good not like blood (weird i know) ..I find it very strange.

Sounds like PMS to me which is probably going to be a bit worse than normal due to the high level of Hormone in the Plan B.  Again, being a mom of 1 and also a nurse, I would say stop and take a breath.  Everything sounds fine and unless she is SUPER FERTILE MYRTLE LOL, the timing wasnt right for her to have ovulated since that is usually around day 14 not 9 and she used the plan B anyway.  I think you guys are in the clear. PMS and extra hormones...

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your responds.

-It's been really crazy week..not much of sleep and more of stress from both side. I'm not sure but my missy has been acting really strange over little thing...she tried to get in touch with me but I was asleep on my desk since I couldn't get good amount of sleep past week..fell a sleep suddenly..and missed her call..and i kind of called her few hrs later after I woke up (had to take care of some things). Since, then she is acting all weird mad, angry, lashing out..without telling me why and what's wrong? Is there any emotional side effect from the pill also? because Its really getting annoying but trying not to over react..since I really want her to feel better...?

If she had her period then two days later the condom broke it's very unlikely she is pregnant. You ovulate about 14 days after the first day of your period. Plus she took the plan B pill which isn't fool proof but it does work. I really wouldn't worry about it

It could be the beginning of her period. I know it's hard to wait and you're anxious right now, but just take it day by day. If you're really that worried still you can always have her set up and appointment with the dr.

Stress could end up making things worse. They can delay her period (which might already be messed up because of plan b) and make you guys worry more. At this point, there is nothing you can do. Worry won't change if she is or not. Just try to relax and see if she gets her period or not.

She took a test this morning came out negative, I know it's too early but the symptoms are strange too. She still has lil fever like symptoms. So stressful esp b/c she is going away for 4 months and cannot do anything while she is away. That's why both of us are stressing even more.

The only thing you can do is wait it out.

The plan b website says to wait up until a week after it's due before you test because it can take that long for your period to start. Plan B is a hormone pill, a high dose of it, that's why you can have an early period, or one that's late...if I were you I'd stop freaking out, relax, and wait until a week after her period is due if it hasn't come by then, have her take a test if it hasn't, and if it's negative, tell her to see a dr.

The white discharge CAN be a sign of pregnancy, but given the fact that you had sex six days ago...I seriously doubt it. It can take 6-12 days for a fertilized egg to implant, and she wouldn't really be getting symptoms before implantation. Some people say they do, but it's impossible to tell for sure, because you can never be 100% sure EXACTLY when ovulation happened or EXACTLY when implantation happened...

She just told me that a lot of white discharge came out of her...usually she gets them before her period comes..but what i'm thinking that its a sign of preg as well. Freaking out every sec, cant stop thinking about it.

Ok, that's good. Well, from what I've read all of her symptoms, for the most part, are side effects of Plan B. I'd start to worry if she's more than a week late on her next period. If she bleeds early that's her period, and if it's not normal it's probably because of the Plan B. Emergency pills can really mess up a woman's body...if she's really worried she can still call a dr, or talk to a pharmacist.

Yeah. Is there a reason you guys took 6 pills? It's only meant to be used as a one time thing. Eiter two pills taken together or 12 hours apart, or the one step pill. Like smj said. She needs to speak to a doctor. It wouldn't surprise me that she's so sick after taking all those. Plan B is never meant to be taken habitually or frequently because they're terrible for your body. If she is pregnant, (which I doubt) she wouldn't have symptoms that soon anyways. It would take at least a week after conception for them to start.

Um...why did she take six pills? There's a very good possibility that taking so many has messed up her body big time! Plan B is NOT supposed to be used as an everyday birth control, and if she did get pregnant it won't cause an abortion. I suggest she call a dr and explain the situation.

I just went to www. plan b onestep .com (without the spaces) and if you look under side effects in the frequently asked questions, it says it can include: changes in period, nausea, lower abdominal pain, fatigue, headache, dizziness, and breast tenderness. And it also recommends getting medical attention if you have severe abdominal pain as it may be an ectopic pregnancy.
