Worried...

I went for my Prenatal & Physical exam today. I had a pap done as well... when the Dr. Showed me the smear it had a bit of blood on it. Is this normal?  She sounded a bit concerned and told me if I have spotting I should go to the Emergency as I could be having a miscarriage ? I am just worrying, this is my first pregnancy so I'm not sure what/ what not to expect :S

See that's what I thought ... there hasn't been any spotting in my underwear. That was the first time I saw blood at all was on the smear... thank you for your comments. They have been reassuring and helpful

Was always told that there may be spotting after a Pap and to not worry unless it became heavy.....

I don't think you have to much to worry about. Just keep an eye out for dark spotting. If you aren't cramping or bleeding (like fing spotting in your unders) you should be ok. Some women spot during pregnancy.

Sounds like your doctor was a little rough and may be trying to draw the attention away from herself...

A little spotting could occur if they did a pap. Not sure why the doc would be acting concerned. That would bother me!

That's strange, after my pap my Dr said to expect some spotting because they irritate and scratch your cervix
