Yolk sac found but no baby yet ?
I had my first sonogram today... I am supposed to be 6w 5d. The doc told me there was a gestational sac and no baby yet. She said that I might be not as far along as I think.. But I'm about 99% sure I am 6w5d. I had my last period march 18th and tested positive on a hpt on april 14th. So theres no way I'm not as far along as I think. The past few days I've had brown discharge which Ive been worried about which is why Ive had my sonogram today instead of friday. Ive been extremely negative all day... I'm preparing myself for the worst I guess. If anyone has a story similar to mine and ended up having a successful please share your story! And ANY advice and positive vibes will be greatly appreciated.
:( im so sorry for your loss, i had two misscariages before this pregnancy and i know how sad it is and how insensitive and misunderstanding people can be, hope that you get a healthy little miracle baby soon to hold and love forever, Good luck and stay positive.
Hey girl! I am sorry that you are going through this and hopefully things will work out and apparently you have a stubborn little one in there!!!!! Hope your little one stays put!
A little update.. Im going to post this in my other question too but here it is.. from the begining... abour 5 days ago I started to have some brown discharge so they moved my first sonogram up and I had it this wed. The doc only saw a gestational sac no yolk sac or baby. The next morning I passed a tissuey looking clot so I went to the hospital. The er doc said I "probably" already miscarried and that I was dilated but she sent me for a sonogram at the er to make sure.. they saw a gestational sac and this time they saw a yolk sac!! so nothing was making sense.. the sac measured 6 weeks 1 day and my hcg levesl are 7487 and the day before that they were only 7479 so they didnt go up much at all... but that level is around 4 weeks pregnant. so then the er doc told me that I still am pregnant and I have a threatened abortion which means first trimester bleeding and 40% end in miscarriage and 60% go on to have a normal pregnancy. This morning it got worse and Ive been clotting like crazy .. but I followed up with my doc this morning and Im not dilated anymore.. and Im still pregnant!! the er doc was so quick to diagnoise a miscarriage!! UGH.. but there is still a pregnancy here as of right now :) She found a gestational sac and yolk sac as well which she had not seen the day before I went to the er. They took my blood work and I have to call around 3:30 to get it.. she said it should be in the 10000. Ive been praying all day! Its been such an emotional rollercoaster.. i know its alot but I need some positive vibes here..
Krey- did they take blood for hcg levels. that would be my suggestion. have it done today and then again in 2 days and see if it is rising.

I had an ultrasound done on Tuesday when I was 6w6d and all they seen was a gestational sac and egg yolk. They said it may be to soon to see the fetal pole.
My HCG levels were 36160. I wouldn't worry to much, it may just be to soon to see anything on ultrasound.

I'm not sure if the doctor said yolk sac or gestational sac now that I think about it. :( I go back tomorrow for more blood work to see if my levels have risen. How long did u spot for?
sorry i didint see the yolk sac part, well if there was a yolk sac and a gestational sac but no baby or heart beat at 6 weeks 5 days, the exact same thing happend to me with the brown spotting and everything and i all turned out ok.

theres a website called misdiagnosed misscariage where you will see stories like yours, my story is actually there, mine was posted as 6 weeks 5 days no fetal pole in the missdiagnosed area, there also an area called something about blinded ovum where your going to find allot of people that are in the same boat as you right now.

when i was about 5 weeks i started spooting and at about 6 weeks i started spooting even more, so i had an ultrasound to see if everything was alright, there was a gestational sac measuring 6 weeks 5 days, a yolk sac but no fetal pole or fetal heartbeat.
at 8 weeks i got another ultrasound and i saw my baby moving around and i saw and heard her heartbeat, im almost 22 weeks now and everything its going great.
did they measure your gestational sac? and if they did how much did it measure?
i did not see the fetalpole at 6 weeks 5 days (the baby), but there was a yolk sac in the gestational sac.
was there a yolk sac in your ultrasound or was the gestational sac compleatly empty?
Hi there my last perid was the 18th and i am 7 weeks 1 /2day pregnant i had a scan at 5 weeks 1 day and i had the sack no baby just what looked like a little air bubble
I think if you conceived on 4/2, then that only puts you at 4wks and 5 days. Usually there isn't much to see on ultrasound at 4wks so I wouldn't worry just yet. Since drs dont know exactly when you concieved, they usually go by the 1st day of your lmp. adding 2wks to your pregnancy. Hope your hcg levels come back good. It'll give your dr a good indication of how far along you are, and as long as the levels keep rising then thats good. As far as the brown disharge, I would just keep an eye on that but try not to stess about it. Stay positive, drink plenty of fluids and dont over do yourself. In my prayers=)
Awww thanks!! I love you guys and this website so much! I really don't know what I would do without all the support all of you have given me..and I appreciate it more than you know. I'm trying to be positive its just so hard.. I guess its natural to prepare yourself for the worst. I'm praying to God it was just to early to see him.
KREY..HOLD ON TO UR FAITH...KEEP TAKING HPT'S TIL UR NEXT APPT.....THATS THE BEST WAY TO COMFORT URSELF...WHEN THEY SAY U MIGHT NOT BE AS FAR ALONG..U COULD HAVE OVU LATER IN UR CYCLE AND COULD HAVE OVU LIKE A WEEK LATER THAN U THOUGHT...JUST DO NOT GIVE UP..LOOK TO THE SKY N TELL THE LORD U NEED HIM RIGHT NOW...
