I have noo idea.. I need to look into something too after this one. I don't know much about paraguard though
All I know is that its an IUD its copper and doesn't use hormones as far as I'm aware
I had the mirena for 3yrs and never had a probelm with it but after I got it removed I saw alot of scary commercials :/ but im also looking for another iud sorry for not being much help lol
I have the paragard. It's a copper non hormonal iud. I've had it since the beginning of February. I had the strings cut again on my check up, but other than that I've had no issues. It's my favorite birth control that I've used.
Did it hurt going in. I just read some reviews on both mirena and paraguard and people are saying it feels like an intense labor contraction, someone else said they wanted to pass out
How many years is it good for?
It's good for ten years. It felt like a bad period cramp. It really wasn't all that bad, in my opinion. I took Advil prior to insertion. And I expected to be really cramps all day but after an hour of light cramps they went away.
The mirena didnt really hurt it was uncomfortable but didn't hurt u get a really sharp cramp but after pregnancy I think ur used to all that lol
OK. I just want to know what to expect. Thank u so much for your advice and experience. I'm definitely leaning more towards paraguard now
Yea that's what I was thinking too. Can't be worse than labor right?
My labor with my son was terrible. So when my ob said it might hurt during insertion I just laughed.
I've had both, mirena for 3 years and paraguard for almost 1 . I will never get a mirena again it cause way To many issues for me, cysts, severe cramping, heavy periods .. The paraguard wasn't bad but I had to deal with constant nausea from me having a reaction to the low dose copper. I know quite a few other women who have had one or the other and hated them and will never get them again
