hey iam 10 1/2 weeks pregnant and started bleeding 5 days ago i went for a scan they said the baby was only 6 weeks and there was no heartbeat and that i prob had my dates wrong. i knew this wasnt possible and she said that i might be having a missed misscarraige but i have only had mild cramps and tiny tiny clots and when i rest the bleeding goes off it it also just a browny colour. i also did another test which was positive and really strong could i still be pregnant and could i be carrying twins which is why it was small

To beckyboo, I am so sorry for what you are going threw, i had a missed m/c june 12th and a d&c june 17th, (i was 10weeks n 3 days, u/s showed baby was 10weeks, i new something was not right that mourning i woke up so i went to er then followed up with my ob to confirm what was going on with me) i think the loss of a child is the worst thing a woman can every go threw in life. I still think about the loss of my child, i got to have a burial service so that gave me some closure.  After getting over the hump of getting AF i felt even much better, also talking about to people who understand and are not insensitive helped me a lot also, this is a great forum with wonderful supportive ladies, if i didnt have this support i think i would still be angry at the world today.  I got my AF july 22, dr gave ok after one cylce to  ttc again if i wanted, so here i am in the 2ww hoping for a BFP.  If you ever need to vent, just send me a message, or post a question, answering questions and asking questions is very thearpuetic, at least for me it was.  I will keep you in my prayers and take all the time you need to grieve, there is no wrong or right way on how to do it and how long it should take you.  I will send you a poem that they gave me in the hospital to your message box.

I am so sorry for your loss. Someone posted this last week and although I am not very religious, it definitely made me feel a little better about having a miscarriage.

hey everyone i went for a scan today ad i have had a missed miscarriage there is only a little bit to come away now about the size of a penny bit bigger it has taken this long because the doc said my hormone levels sky rocketed and my boy was trying to save the baby. i was expecting it and i can now grieve.

Im sorry for what you are going through,it can take several days for everything to come away..if there is a sac and baby there. it is a good sign,many women bleed through pregnancy...and have healthy babies..i have to tell you that your doc was wrong,when you mc your hormone levels are still above 5,which is pregnancy.during a mc your levels are decreasing,hence you will still get positive tests.which is why when your level drops below 5,after a mc then you will get your period again..however if your baby is still there then its a positive sign,keep us informed,best of luck..

have they even said to you that your micarrying its a bit unusual for them not to tell you and they usually give u 24 to 48 hours for it to come away if it doesn't you have to go get it removed keep use updated on what happening good luck

she didnt say i dnt think so i had an external scan got to have an internal one today its been going on so long how long will it take to come away

hey just to keep u updated i passed a big clot on tue eve went for a scan yesterday and the sac and baby was still there so i dnt know what i passed but got to go back today to see if there is a heartbeat

hello i spoke to my doc today and asked her advice she said if i was miscarrying and th baby did die at six weeks then the test wouldnt say positive she says it is a good sign but i have to keep an open mind got a scan on thur 7th

Ok, let me tell you what I know.  I'm not trying to be negative, but it doesn't sound very good.  Every miscarriage is different, so just because your symptoms weren't as strong or painful as others doesn't mean it wasn't a miscarriage.  Also,  if your baby did die at 6 weeks, sometimes it takes your body 2-3 weeks to naturally dispose of it.  Sometimes, if your body doesn't dispose of it on your own then you need a D&C performed by a doctor.  NOW, it is possible that your dates were wrong.  It is also possible not to get a heartbeat at 6 weeks because it is too early.  The pregnancy test picks up the pregnancy hormone, which in early pregnancy doubles every 48-72 hours.  When you miscarry it declines at the same rate.  So it is possible you still have the horomone in your system which is why the test is still positive.  My recomendation to you, is to get another scan done in a week.  By then, you will be 7 weeks (if your dates were off) and should see a heartbeat.  If the baby still measures the same, then it was most likely a miscarraige.  What you can also do, is have your doctor measure your beta hcg through a blood test, then repeat it again 2 days later - that will show if your numbers are declining or not.  That is what they did for me when I miscarried.  I also passed the fetal tissue about 2 days after I began bleeding heavy and cramping.  I am truly sorry you are going through this, but follow up with your doctor to get better answers.
