I had a c section five months ago because of a failed induction. Any surgery is scary no matter how much you prepare yourself for it. It's just important to remember to trust your doctor and the hospital you chose. Chances are the surgeon has done this a hundred times. You will be completely numb and if they keep you awake all you'll feel is tugging and pulling on your abdomen.
After you are done with the procedure they will take you to a recovery room for one to two hours where you'll get to hold your baby and rest. Your medication won't wear off for four to five hours and when it does they will put you on a pain drip or give you hydrocodone for your pain. Don't be afraid to ask for more pain meds if they aren't working.
The key to easy and fast recovery is to stay relaxed and sleep as much as you can. When you feel ready, preferably in about 12-24 hours you should try to walk. Just small steps a few feet from your bed and back. It releases endorphins to your incision site and helps you heal.
Gradually start to walk further each time you try it, but don't push yourself too hard. After a few days, or if you're like me only one day, you'll need a shower. You'll have wraps and bandages which you'll have to remove because it is very important that you clean your incision. When you remove the bandages, wet them first and they will come off easier. Gently pull them off. Do not use a washcloth on your incision for the first couple of weeks. The first time you wash your incision soap your stomach and let the soapy water run down your incision.
That's all the advice I can give and that's what I learned in recovery. Good luck you'll be fine.
No worries dear it will just work out nice and u will be fine again.
I dont know much about having a c section but i know someone who just had a baby via c section and she was up and walking around a few days after the procedure.
