hi all i'm just a bit confused. i checked my cervix just a few days before i started my period because i was hoping they dont come. but anyway when i checked my cervix it was soft and open, is it suppose to to be like this before your periods, and how would it feel like if you have concieved and when you are ovulating?

Oh I hope that whar you are saying happens to me too! right now my cervix feels hard, like the tip of my nose, but I still have some discharge. I don't know when my period is due though, I'll still cross my fingers!

Take it from me:  cervical position is the most unreliable thing!!  Just before your period, it's supposed to be low and hard (they say it feels like the tip of a nose).  Mine felt like this around the time my period was due, so that, combined with the fact that I wasn't experiencing any pregnancy symptoms, had me convinced that I wasn't pg.  

Meanwhile.....my period didn't come!  I was 2 days late (very unusual for me) and started to feel headachy and sort of sick to my stomach, so I took a test - and it was a BFP!!
