chest pain

I'm 17 weeks 2 days. And this horrible pain has started under my ribs. I'm not sure what it could be. It almost takes my breath away at times. Any thoughts?

I guess it would depend on how you are carrying, and your body type for how early baby gets to your ribs... but usually at week 17 your uterus is about 2 inches below your navel still... but i cant say for sure if it would be or not the baby... check with your Dr next time and post an update on what they have to say... also i guess if anyone else has experiences this this early that would be interesting to know too...

I felt little movement here and there, but nothing I can say " oh yeah the babys kicking" lol. It just don't seem like my uterus is that far up yet.

Yup it just happened to me last week and im 19 wks right now!  have you felt the baby move at all yet? I cant feel lil my man yet but i get major pressure in my stomach and chest and its obvious he s doing something in there! Feel around you stomach on the side where the pain is see if you can feel the baby mine was on my right rib and right below there was a bump you could tell he was there and curled up! I literally felt like some1 socked me in the ribs it hurt that bad like my air was taken away and we were 3 hrs from home i had to ride home reclined i couldnt even reach up for anything!! and the next day i felt bruised!

more than likely your baby has done what mine did found a nice "comfy" spot under your ribs and its killing you! i thought there was something wrong w me i asked the dr but nothing can be done the baby is just stretching! they told me to massage my stomach all around to move the baby out or lie in a recliner and stretch out real good!

Its hard to say for sure but it doesnt hurt to get checked out to be safe... depending on specifics ot could be anything from a pulled muscle to indigestion... either way if your hurting that much id get checked out...
