Not worse then labor itself this is my third pregnancy and im definitely getting it again its been a life saver in both my deliveries
mine was horrible,they could not get it in my back, the tired 3-4 different times. The last time the tried I screamed because I had a sudden pain all the way down my back and into my leg and it still was not in. It was so scary
I didn't even feel mine because my contractions were so bad. I really didn't want it at all but after an entire day I gave in. Literally minutes after they gave me the epi I was pushing -__- had they checked me before giving me the epidural I would've gone without it. I don't plan on it this time!
I haven't gotten one yet because this is my first pregnancy. But I'm planning to. BUT, I have gotten a spinal tap to check for meningitis a couple years back. And the doctors told me those are way worse than an epidural. They messed up on me and stuck me 5 times til they finally were able to get it in the right part of my spine where they removed 4 viles of fluid. So I feel like if I can do that, an epidural will be cake lol.
Mine was horrible. Worse part of labor. Not getting it this time. Everyone I'd different though.
Wow some scary stories on here ... well for me it was not painful at all contractions way more painful .. all I wanted was for the pain to end by the way by the time I got the epidural Iwas already 8-9 about 15 min later the nurce checked me and was close to 10 so they started getting me ready and all ... than I said to myself "only If I had waited a lik bit longer Iwould have not needed the epidural but oh well it did take away the pain and didnt feel a thing when pushing so that was good :-)
I got three epidurals because each one failed!!!!!!after the 3rd I was screaming at anyone who walked into my room! I will never get an epidural again
i didn't feel the shot n Im terrified of needles but my contractions were so painful i aint feel the epidural i was just ready for the pain to end
Mine kinda hurt, I don't like feeling the electricity shocked feeling when they putting it in. But it was definitely worth it in the end!
no trust me you will be in so much pain from contractions that you wont even feel the needle..lol it was a small pinch then 30 minutes later i was good
It really isnt that bad. With my first they put it in a moved a little because it tickled and they had to take it out and had to do it again. It only took a second and it was not painful just awkward. I have a pretty high pain tolerance though
It feels like a normal shot ..usually the only reason they hurt us if you move and it causes them to loose their spot but they use a topical numbing agent ...when they say don't move listen its very important so they can place it in the right spot since it is a catheter just like an IV but smaller ....I'm not gunna lie its scary but don't look at the implements and just breath and be still and you won't really know what's going on... your gunna get a few horror stories because there is human error but they do this thousands of times a year
It did for me. I don't think they numbed the area well because I screamed soo loud, it felt like a car had hit me. Hopefully, if I do get it this time it won't hurt.
