My son had a choroid plexus cyst as well at the 20 week scan. Dr told me he had to inform me about it, but not to worry. he said that they are found on about 40 percent of ultrasounds, and that if here are no other markers of anything being wrong, its not a concern.

This is a link to post on the neurology forum.  It appears that the prognosis and outcome depend a great deal upon exactly WHERE the cyst is.  Perhaps this post will help shed some light on it and maybe you can find more in that forum as well.

Unfortunately from what I've found the posterior fossa cyst is NOT the same as a choroid plexus cyst.

Almost all cysts found in utero do correct themselves before birth. *HUGS*

My daughter ran into the same thing when she was pregnant with my grandson.  They told her there was a mass on his head after an ultrasound.  When he was born, there was absolutely nothing wrong with his head.  I wouldn't worry too much.... When you see the 3D/4D ultrasound pictures, many of the babies look a little lumpy, but this should pass.

At my 20 week atonomy scan they found a right choroid plexus cyst. I was terrified but they assured me that it is actually extremely common and they usually go away. They found no other problems with the baby and by the 24 week follow up scan the cyst had disapeared. Good luck

Its more common than you may think....but when they told me my daughter had one, I went home and researched the heck out of it.  Turns out that atleast with the type of cyst she had (right choroid plexus) that it was fairly common and almost always disappeared before birth.  Did they tell you exactly what type of cyst it is?

AT my 20 week scan with my youngest daughter she had developed a right choroid plexus cyst.  The maternal fetal medicine specialist reviewed my u/s and had me come back to have it repeated....by 30 weeks the cyst had disappeared....she is now a healthy 6 year old.

My  baby had cysts and they dissapated by themselves. The only thing I could tell you is to wait and they will probably talk to you about aborting but that is all up to you I just didn't listen to them and all my babies cysts and heart problems he had cleared themselves up now I have a healthy 2 1/2 year old running around!
