did my water break?
i felt really wet..so i went to the bathroom, peed, and checked my underwear and it was soaked. i was pretty surprised...i smelled it and it smelled sweet. ( i could smell discharge too but the overwhelming smell was like sugary water ) ...so i was fairly sure my water was broken, but i put on another pair of underwear, and since then i've barely had anything. just a few drops here and there that could be discharge/pee.
is it possible for your water to break and then leak THAT slowly? i mean ive always heard to call if you have to change your underwear several times..i haven't had to change this second pair. but the first time seemed SO much like water, idk what else it could have been. im just so confused.

awww....glad everything is ok though...always better to be safe then sorry...very soon your little princess will be here :)
awww well that stinks LOL. We were so hoping you'd have baby by now. Oh well, soon enough :)
aw...that's kinda bizarre that they considered that first test inconclusive. from what I understand any PH reaction on the test strip indicates a small amount of amniotic fluid...but if it's just a tiny leak I guess they wouldn't consider it enough reason to admit/induce you.

hey girls!! thanks so much for your concern!! well we went in and they tested me and the first test came up as inconclusive..basically a little of the stick turned purple but not enough to say for sure, so they tested me again and that one was negative. but the doctor wanted to keep me overnight cause they weren't sure and she didn't wanna send me home..thats why i haven't been on to update. had my stuff with me but left my laptop in the car cause i figured i would go home quickly. this mornin they looked again with a speculuum (?) and still no water so they sent me to u/s and fluid levels were great (13). so idk WHAT i had yesterday...but anyways im still preggers. :(

well i called... doctor said its very possible it was my water. i hope it is cause if not im gonna be so embarrassed..i already know all these nurses at l&d too well!! ill keep yall posted. ive got wifi at the hospital and im bringing my laptop incase it is water...

It is possible that your water broke.....and baby just isn't low enough to add the pressure to the bag for more to leak out. However here is my story...maybe it will help.
With both my middle DS and youngest DS, I got up to use the bathroom, went pee and went to lay back down. I was so big that I had to lay on my back, and then roll over to my side LOL, when I rolled over to my side I had a HUGE gush.....with my middle DS I went to the ER, they tested it and it came back negative. BUT.....I did however go into labor a few hours later the next day. With my youngest DS is happened in the wee morning, probably about 6am. Got up...pee'd, went back to bed, and had the same gush when I rolled over. I didn't feel like going to the ER to be told I pee'd myself, so I just went back to bed. I woke up at 9am and was in the beginning stages of labor, by 4pm I was admitted to L&D and dilated to 4cm.
My doc said the only explanation behind it is that I have a secondary bag of water....kind of like taking a water balloon and twisting it, to make 2 balls of water....one bag had the baby in it and the other bag does not....the bag that didn't have the baby in it was the one that ruptured.
So....this could be the same case that your going through, it may be possible that your just 24/48 hours or less into going into active labor!

i believe they did a swab on me and determined i had lost water...if my memory is correct i believe they ended up breaking my water all the way to try to put me in labor but that didnt work so they induced me....

they can do a swab test. I believe its called a fern test. The swab your vajayjay and then can tell you if its amnio fluid or not. I would go in to be on the safe side. The test only takes a few minutes and better safe than sorry. Besides if it isnt at least you know and arent left wondering:~) Good luck
lol they have strips that detects even small amounts of amni fluid they are like little yellow ones and they turn dark purple if it is your water! I hope it is!!
how would they know if i had had some leakage earlier? i wonder if i brought that pair of underwear (gross i know) that they would be able to tell. i mean its dry now so idk lol.
i would call the doc to be safe...at least let them examine you to make sure everything is ok...you never know they may end up breaking the rest of your water if that is what happened...
oh thats scary okay thanks!! i'm laying down now so maybe in about an hour i'll get up and see what happens. i'm really hoping something does!! but i hate taking trips to l&d for no reason..esp now i feel like i'll just get my hopes up if i go there and nothing happens. and im not close enough to my due date for them to decide to just keep me. so here's to praying for a slow leak that makes itself noticeable LOL.
I think you should law down and see if you have a change.. this same thing happened to me i thought it was nothing cause it didn't continue but a few days later i felt a gush while laying down and was having strong contractions so i knew it was real but my daughter and i ended up with a bad infection because i guess i had a slow leak. you should try laying down actually not walking because When you walk the babies head acts like a plug and keeps fluid from leaking if her head is Engaged but laying down you should get more fluid. also.. with my first i thought my water broke but it was urine and i found out i had a bladder infection even with no other symptoms! so.. be sure to keep an eye on things!
im going to call if i notice much more...i dont think it was pee. there was so much on my underwear that if it was pee i would have smelled it, unless my pee smells sweet lol. im hoping for the big gush when i stand up from bed...that would be nice. :)
awwww...maybe its possible your bladder was leaking...maybe the baby was pushing on it and it emptied...i know its so scary thinking this...i would still call your doc to make sure...
i remember when my water broke...i slept right through it..i remember waking up and calling the doc to tell them that i couldnt stop peeing my pants....my underwear would get wet everytime i put on a clean pair...turns out my water broke sometime over night and it was show time
