After my d & c i didn't get pregnant again for exactly one year...but we weren't actively trying then either.  That pregnancy ended in stillbirth but was due to cord strangulation.

I did go on to have 2 healthy full term pregnancies after that.

I m/c'd again this past Aug but it was a natural m/c and I got pregnant after 2 cycles. We weren't trying this time either.

thank you ladies for all the advice....i spoke to my primary doctor and she told me to i should wait at least 1 full cycle before trying

she mentioned that while i was at the hospital i was given pitossin to shrink my uterus back down and they will take a look at my uterus at my follow up appt

im most likely going to chart my temps again and use OPKs....though ive never used them before so ill have many more questions

i pray in the next 2-3 months im able to get my BFP again

again thank you all for your thoughts and prayers....this has been such a sad time for me and its knowing i have a support network that is given me the strength to continue on

I had a d&c in Nov 07.  The doc told me to wait for one normal cycle.  We have been ttc since but unfortunately my body is wacky and now doesn't want to ovulate.  I use opk's and bbt method.  I also wanted to say how sorry i am for your loss.  I know how heartbreaking it is to loose something so precious.  I wish you the best of luck ttc

I too had a D&C in Dec. and was told to wait for 3 cycles before trying...I didn't wait, as I'm 34 and need to get moving on this!  Anyway, my cycles have been off the past 2 months and no BFP as of yet....I'm going to test on Fri.  Just be aware though that alot of people's cycles are messed up after a D&C, so use OPT's when you're emotionally ready to try again!  Lots of luck and I'm sorry for your loss.

I had a D&C in may of 2006.  I got pregnant right away after that, but it ended in mc.  One OB told me it was ok to get pregnant right away.  When I went in for a second mc I saw a different dr.  That doctor said I should have waited 3months to give my uterus time to heal and prepare itself for another pregnancy.

I just wanted to say how sorry I am.  I have been thinking of you the last few days.  My daughter had a similar situation, and if you would like my email address or hers, just PM me.  Sometimes just talking as much as you can helps.

I cant really help with your question, but I hope you can get some peace of mind soon.

Big, big hug,
Lori

I had a D and C this past Sept.  My husband and I began ttc in Jan of this year.  Didn't happen in Jan., but we just found out that we are 5 weeks along today.  My doc. recommended waiting 3 cycles, and we did.  We started trying right after my 3rd cycle.  6 months seems like a while, but I think that it also depends on how far along you were.  if you were in your 2nd trimester, you might want to wait 6 months to give your uterus some time to heal.  I was 15 weeks along, barely into the 2nd trimester, and like i said, my doc only told me to wait 3 cycles.  good luck and wish you all the best!

I had a D&C in 2003 I waited exactally 3 months to even have sex I would not let my DH "relieve" hisself. I waited until the 3days before I was to ovulate and then we bd those 3days and the days after I also used the ov predicter kits... First response I believe they were. 12 Days later I had my BFP and she is a beautiful healthy girl and smart she will be 4 April 11th.. Honey I wish you all the luck and if you dont have a medical reason from your doc as to WHY you should wait 6 months than you can start to try after you are ready and healed from the D&C... BABY DUST and all my prayers!!!!

I had a D&C and my doc told me it was OK to start trying after my first cycle. He did suggest continuing prenatal vitamins if I decided to try again right away. Did your doc say if there was a specific reason he wanted you to wait so long? If not you might want to check just to be sure it will be physically healthy for you.

6 month is too long but you should wait your cycle to normalise, maybe 3 cycles. After that you can start ttc. Also making a little pause gives you time for psychological recovery and then you will forget the fear and stress feeling right now. Every pregnancy have her chances and they are not the same. Miscarriages are so often and doctors can`t explain them in most of cases.
