Coming from a lab tech who hands them out...it's best not to change your diet before the test, the change can affect the results in the end and the taste...well depends on which type and amount you get because they range from a really sugary drink to syrup like, that is what I've been told. Hope this helps!
I had the orange one and it tasted like flat syrupy orange Fanta. It really wasn't that bad.
I did get a big headache a couple hours after drinking it though
Don't change your diet but don't eat so much sugars. I did it and failed now I have to go take the 3 hour test -.- & mine was fruit punch flavor just like koolaid . Lol
So just keep doing what I've been doing? I really wanna pass this test. Haha
Changing it now won't make a difference. If you have gestational diabetes than you have it. Changing your diet is what helps control it if you have it. The day before try and not eat so much and definitely not sweets because it can cause you to have higher sugar levels on the 1 hour test and have to take the 3 hour test and that one is noooo fun!
I didn't change my diet and I'm a huge fan of sweets and I even had a bowl of cereal an hour before my appt and I passed. Good luck.
The first time I took it I went out for breakfast and had pancakes, omelette and sausage, my blood sugar was actually low and the second time I ate a bowl of cereal and it was low again. It was in the 50s each time. So it doesn't matter what you eat before. Just don't eat or drink anything within the hour you drink it.
I think they taste kind of like gatorade but I hate gatorade so maybe thats why lol
This makes me happy. Haha Anyone who knows me knows my relationship with sweets. ^_^ My mom said when I was little I would wake up at 4 a.m. asking for candy. Haha
