Google hcg level calculator and you can find sites where you put in your info. That was helpful to me. Your numbers sound EXCELLENT, I think!
And how exciting that you were able to see a gestational sac in your ultrasound! My first one was at 6 weeks and we could see a tiny baby and the yolk sac.
I think you're JUST fine!
Good luck and lots of love and baby dust!
Thank you all for your replies, you made me feel so much better :) I had my numbers done again 2 days later and now they are up to 2019. My doc is happy with my numbers now and says Im around 5 wks and 2 days along. She also did a ultrasound just to be safe and was able to see a gestational sac . She says it looks to be progressing normaly.
THe general rule of thumb is 48 hours in the beginning.. Generally people are getting these tests really early in the pregnancy so I think most doctors just go by that so its less confusing at times.... I did alot of research about HCG over the past year and this is what I learned
HCg levels
5-1200 - 48 hours approximately
1200-6000 - 48-72 hours.
6000+ - 96 hours or more..
109 is not a huge difference... If the draw as taking hour later, it could make a difference.. I would not worry about it at this stage .
You're around 5 weeks pregnant, and it definitely is too soon for an ultrasound. Low hCG levels DO NOT indicate miscarriage. Your levels look good and where they should be. Ideally yes, you want them to double every 48 hours, but it can also take up to 72 hours and still be normal.
My LMP was in 6/20 & I went to the Dr. On 7/22 did blood work & everything.. A week later inwas experiencing slight cramps. I was told it's normal. Anyways my HCG level was low. So I had to do more blood work this past Monday & Wednesday. Also was scheduled for an ultra sound yesterday & didn't even see the baby or hear the heartbeat :( but my HCG levels went from 11,900-18,700. I am still freaked out that this pregnancy ia going to end up as a miscarriage with no heartbeat. If I'm not mistaken I should be 6weeks. I have another ultra sound next week. I hope your HCG level doubles & everything works out for you
I don't think so, I think as long as it is *close* to doubling, everything seems to be fine. Your OB is right, it is way too early to see anything on u/s. So just hang in there, hun! Think positive! I have had 3m/c, too (I also have 4 healthy kids) and am pregnant again (LMP 6-27-11) I know how it feels to be nervous, but I just try to think positive and send love to my baby that s/he will stick this time! Good luck!
