how could I be pregnant after..........

hello ladies..
I have this question that's bothering me the thing is I started the birth control on May this yr and waited the required 7days before having the unprotected sex. and I did go to my periods on May before the birth control injection(depo), I had unprotected sex several times after the required waiting time. On June I did go to my periods bt they were heavy than usual.......and I was still having unprotected sex with my bf. On July and August I didn't get my periods and my next injection was on August so I usked the nurse to change me to something else coz the depo gave me headaches so I was changed to a 2months injection but still no periods. The nurse said other people don't have periods when they are on an injection......

Now I'm worrid coz my breast are harder than usual and I'm gaining weight, so do you think I might be pragnant and also If I am how will the birth control affect the baby will the baby be healthy if ever I am pregnant since I took the injections............they won't affect the fetus?

thanx ladies for your time and answers!!!!!!
regard Lolly.

Depo is known for significant weight gain in women.  I myself gained over 40 lbs on it ( I know it was the depo because I lost almost ALL of it within two months after stopping depo and I didnt' change anything else).  I've also known several other women with the same problem. I agree gillianl about stopping depo altogether if you can take something else. I also developed depression as a side effect from it, and my cycles were HORRIBLE after going off of it. It took over a year for them to get anywhere near regular!  I also agree with the other women that you should take a test. That's the only way you'll be able to ease your mind about it.

Take a test if you think you are pregnant.

But every woman reacts differently to birth control.  Gaining weight is not uncommon on birth controls I have and plenty of other people i know have.  And some women do not have period on birthcontrol like the shot.  With pills you take pills that are just sugar pills so your body will have its regular cycle (and you are only taking sugar pills so you stay on schedule so you don't forget the important pills) . I'm not sure how the shot would effect that because at no time do you stop taking something to allow your period to start.  Let us know what happens.

I was on the depo shot for 2 and a half years and never had a period on it, that is why some women prefer it as it stops bleeding altogether and lessens period cramps.

However i would get off of this bc NOW, it causes depression it causes cycles to muck up before and after having depo.  I had my period for 3 months after coming off of depo then it went haywire i then had to go onto bc pills for 4 months to regulate me and shift the poison out of my system.  I have now been ttc for 25 months with no luck and partly blame the depo for this.  I hopw you do find another form of bc as this one should be taken off the shelves for good.  Best of luck!!

You shouldnt have taken the shots again without asking your doc for a preg test first because you had pregnancy symptoms!! You should deff take a test or go back to your doc and ask her to send you for bloodwork!! If you are pregnant you need to stop the b.c asap! Then again it could be just a side effect from the b.c!! But i suggest taking a test! Have you taken one yet???
