Oh so good to hear :D I couldn't sleep laying flat for months or I was guranteed horrible heartburn. I really suggest one of those pillows. It doesn't look comfy but it is. Here is what they got me: http://www.wdrake.com/WalterDrake/DisplayItem.aspx?id=e3wp&ICMP=Search. Only annoying thing.about it is the pillow case they.have for it is obnoxious to put on. I change.my.sheets once a week and with no patience I eventually just started wrapping an extra sheet around it. Lol
ty ladies so much I got some gas x it helps but sitting up.and sleeping sitting up is helping I got 4 hours of sleep tt ladies any one due in January?
I found this article, seemed like some good tips..
Mix and drink a tablespoon of baking soda in a glass of water to temporarily relieve pain. Since baking soda is considered a base chemical, it will neutralize the acid. However, baking soda is high in sodium and should not be used by women with pregnancy-related high blood pressure or pre-eclampsia. Eating an apple slice at night can help quell the pain. Medications, such as Mylanta, also work well and are safe to take during pregnancy, as they are not absorbed in the bloodstream. As always, ask your doctor or pharmacist if you plan on taking any medication.
Take a spoonful of honey as needed to soothe the burning in your esophagus. The esophagus is not meant to play host to gastric acids and can become quite raw when repeatedly exposed to it. Dairy products such as ice cream and milk do coat the esophagus, but they can also cause heartburn. Instead, suck on a Popsicle to relieve the burning in your esophagus.
Milk does it for me! And if you are getting it when you are trying to lay down, try propping yourself up a little...or switch sides. It seems like my heartburn comes more frequently when I lay on my right side. It sounds silly but try it!

I drank a glass of milk (chocolate) everytime I felt it come on then had to take tums in my 3rd trimester. Just when you think it can't get worse it does then you have this hairy child and back to,rarely having heartburn. Lol milk was great. sit up for an hour after eating. The only way I could sleep was sitting up. My parents so kindly got me a foam wedge pillow to rest up against because I was sleeping upright on my couch. It actually got to the point where,I slept upright with my back against the wedge foam pillow and my feet propped on a pillow to reduce tge swelling in my feet. Haha I was happy I slept by myself at this point to avoid any embarassment lol
try a glass of milk that works for me
Random thought. The heartburn is how I normally knew I was pregnant. My skin is more olive though, so my doctor recommended that I take a D3 supplement because my body doesn't create and utilize it well enough because of that reason. Anyway, if you are taking a D3 supplement, other your prenatal vitamins include it, if you take any kind of antacids like Tums, you will have serious side effects I read. Just something to keep in mind
I read not to use baking soda while pregnant. And I had it SO bad for like 2 weeks and tums, milk. Just nothing was working so my doctor prescribed nexium for me and it is amazing.
You could try the baking soda. I think you just put it with water and drink. tastes disgusting i imagine, but heard it works every time. Or just eat a Tums. Always works for me lol. well.....MOST of the time lol
I also get bad heartburns prilosec and prevecid works for me
