usually you get a cyst called a corpus luteum cyst which like Joy says helps create the hormones for a healthy pregnancy. the doctors will measure it and make sure it does not grow too much and starts to get smaller after the 13 weeks mark. but if it does not, they usually will remove it after you give birth.
The cyst shouldn't be a problem in that it can harm baby. At least to my limited knowledge. Waiting 6 weeks will be fine. When you ovulate a cyst forms on your ovary. That cyst gives off pregnancy hormones in early pregnancy until the placenta develops and takes over around 12 weeks.
So it's probably a luteal cyst and those are NOT a problem. Every pregnant woman has one in the first trimester.
