lost the baby, having suction d&c this afternoon

Today I was 9w3d pregnant, had an u/s and there was no heartbeat. They believe the baby died two weeks ago. I have not had any spotting/bleeding so I"m having a suction d&c this afternoon...i don't know what to do, im numb. this was my 4th pregnancy and we have 1 beautiful daughter, 3 miscarriages.  Why us again!?!?!? Seriously again!?! Hasn't our family been through enuogh with my dad's cancer and then when we all have something to look forward to it comes crashing down again. what the F**K! I"m so angry and sad and fustrated...now what? I"m an OR nurse and do suction d&c's all the time but what do i expect after? will i be crappy? will i bleed a lot? any info would help!

I know how you feel hun.  I have had 2 miscarriges and I am pregnant atm 20 weeks.  I had a suction d&c with my last miscarrige it was pain for a couple of days and I did bleed up it was like a very heavy period.  But people are different I guess. My heart goes out to you hun.  Take Care

was this the first ultrasound you had?  I'm so sorry:(  You will be crampy and bleed like a heavy period.

I had a d and c suction 8th January had very little pain and very little bleeding hope this helps everyone different though , that's what the people that were doing my operation d and c told me was one hundred percent no where near as painfull as my natural miscarriage

I'm so sorry.  After my d&c in Dec, I was kept in the hospital for about 8 hours (I had been told to expect to stay 1.5-2 hours) because I bled A LOT.  I felt perfectly fine, though, and never took even one of the pain pills I was prescribed.  I was told not to lift my 18 m/o, but that was impossible to obey, and I was fine.  I only bled- lightly- for about 2-3 days, then spotted for 2 more.  Physically, it was much easier than I expected.  Take care.

I went in on the Friday at 8 in morning i think had to eat nothing by mouth are drink the night before after twelve , got told i could go home Friday night there was no room for my d and c , came back same time Saturday morning and got taken to theatre about 8pm the most painfull thing in all of this was the tablets that were inserted in me an hour before my d and c i got bad cramps and was very uncomfortable whilst getting inserted but bearable pain . O stayed Saturday night and went home Sunday lunch time ......

I know mine was a lost better than my first MC I let it happen natual that was really painfull

Ye i had severe pain with a natural miscarriage for over four hours i think will never suffer that way again first and last

I have had 2 D&C's. I had some cramping afterwards but nothing close to a natural mc. It was outpatient and got to go home about an hour after waking up from it. Im sorry this is happening to you. But I wish you the best.

And the bleeding I had was moderate. Nothing heavy. I forgot to mention that.

I'm so sorry to hear that, I've had 7 m/c and no kids.. I'm currently going through a m/c now.. So I know all the pain your going through. Now about the d&c I decided against it so I'm not sure of the side effects I'm sorry.

U do the suction d and c yourself at work least u will know what to expect within the operation and maybe know the people doing it, i was a nervous wreck not knowing what to expect and scared something would go wrong and I've never had an operation and been put to sleep so was frightened i would not wake up but all went well and happy i chose the d and c

When I had my suction d&c... .I went into OR and was in recovery 15 minutes later....  I had some bleeding but very little pain.. I was prescribed no pain meds....  a week and a half after my d&c,  i started passing clots and got really painful cramps.. I passed this giant clot then in a panic, went to the ER... uterus was empty at that point...  I stopped bleeding the next day... I had some retained product that i passed naturally but overall it was a good experience...

hi ladies.
i had my d&c at 130 yesterday and was home around 530. It was slow to wake up (i'm a light weight for meds)  I had the sugery at the place I worked so I was able to ask certain people to be in the room, so i was more comfortable. I have an awesome work group that are so supportive, i couldn't ask for better. I had a lot of cramping in recover but after a ton of meds that zonked me out I was good. I've only had a little spotting thus far and i'm 24hrs + out of surgery.  Is that normal or will the bleeding pick up? Also when did you get a next period roughly? did it take a couple weeks , month? ??

i belive that most people say you are suppose to wait 2 cycles to try again but should I listen to that? I ask b/c I had a miscarriage before i had my daughter and we tried the very next cylce and got pregnant and have a beautiful daughter from it. i think people say you are more fertile after a miscariage as well??? thoughts??

mine came 6 weeks after my d&c but i had the retained product.. it was 4 weeks after i passed that....  i waited 3 cycles to try again and got pregnant during my 3rd month of trying

Honey the only advise that I can give you is that keep a positive mind  and trust God and yourself next time...dont even worry for your past .....If  get  pregna again ( that is 100 % probably ) dont thing about miscarriges anymore...this is my first pregnancy and at first I was woory about that, but you know what I stop looking my paper tolet after I wipe because Ibelieve that I will have this baby no matter what. .Dont blame nothing ..just be strong and everything is going to be fine. I had my d and c on 8th January had no period after it , got pregnant again, had a scan on 10th march saw baby with hb 7 weeks 2 days but for some reason wrote down as 7wk1day lol

What does OR mean ? Operation room ?  I see all these short terms  lol what does dd and ds and dos, bs stand for i have an idea but what is irthday actually short for ?

I got pregnant a month after my second mc. With my first I waited and got on the pill but within 2 months of stopping I got preggers. I had a D&C with both Mc's.

you said you didn't get your period after your d/c but you got pregnant right away? does your body think that the d/c is like a period so you will ovulate in the next couple weeks after the procedure?  to be honest my husband and i haven't really talked about what we want to do yet. this was my 4th pregnancy and we have 1 daughter. this has been the most emotional one for me...i think its b/c on the u/s i could see the little baby, arms and all and then no heartbeat...i cna't get that picture out of my head. i feel so numb and then i just can't stop crying. i find myself rubbing my stomach alot and wishing this was alll a dream..

Once you HCG returns to below 5, your body will ovulate again sometime after that... and then you should get your period 2 weeks after..

You dont need to get your period again to get pregnant technically.

Your period occurs after the egg isnt fertilized....  Some people ovulate as soon as 2 weeks after their d&c... others take longer because it can take a while for your HCG to drop depending on how far along you are, what your HCG was before the d&c, etc.

Hey i must of because i got a positive pregnancy test on the 19th febuary exactly six weeks after my suction d and c without a period. I know how u feel i saw mums babies hb two days before new years eve and from then till eight days later the hb had stopped i was so devastated it hit me badly i went to the hospital on the 6th January for a scan and it had stopped and must of been recent because baby was measuring correct, unless it was still growing ? Is that possible. I got given 3 scans pictures that i have kept but found them very disturbing to look at to begin with.
