ot- your pets while pregnant

this is a weird qyestion but i'm curious....has anyone elses's pets acted weird towards you during your pregnancy?? my dogs have always been affectionate but the past few days they just follow me EVERYWHERE!! i can't even go pee or take a bath without them sitting outside the door whimpering at me. my kittens been the same way. she's not really a people cat but the past week if i'm out of her sight she goes crazy looking for me and just starts wailing till i pick her up. even right now i'd left her sleeping on the couch and i came downstairs; 2 minutes later i hear thud, thud. thud of her running down the steps crying. she climbed into my arms and went back to sleep.

My pets have been the same way, especially my one cat who has always been attached to my hip anyways. She has been up my rear the past couple of weeks, always having to be with me or near me and actually wanting me to hold her and she usually hates to be held. If I go outside on the front porch for a break and read a book she screams at me through the door and paws at it lol.

I don't know if it's because they know that once baby is here they wont be center of attention anymore or what. Sometimes I worry because they say animals will tell you stuff before it happens, like bad storms ect.....

my dog has never really been bothered with me much, he is in love with my husband though. he used to jump up on me if he wanted some thing but since i got pregnant he wont jump up on my belly anymore and he likes to just sit next to me and sometimes he trys to lay his head on my belly.

Pets a truly amazing things and they can pick everything up!

I'm 32w1d and my cat Disturbed (turby) has always been affectionate, but this last couple weeks I think she's realized I'm pregnant cause she ALWAYS tries to lay on me and love on me.

She'll literally try to sneak onto my lap, if I'm laying down she'll come from near my head and do it. it drives me NUTS cause if I don't pet her she'll lick my hand or face or whatever once or twice then BITE me. (love bites)  My dog is a complete "momma's Girl"

She follows me everywhere but always have. I think she'll be jealous when TJ gets here and I'm gonna have to watch her. She's like 7lbs if that and has never bit anyone.

Oh and my mom's fat chiuaua(sp?) will come lay on my lap or near me and instead of just plopping his fat self on me, he'll GENTLY climb on me and lay up against my lap.

my docs have been saying i could go anyday now....but that's been for almost 2 weeks. lol.

the kittens drivin me nuts! the dogs....they're more of a nusiance then anything. my youngest dog lucky is now starting to head butt me. i don't know why but if i'm doing something and i don't stop to pay attention to him he head butts me either in the hip or right in the rear. not hard but it's enough to where i turn and around and look at him. he'll just flop down near me and lick my foot then. lol. the other dog he'll just lay near me staring at me. it kinda freaks me out really.

i remember when i was pregnant with my youngest son, we had a cat that only seemed to like my fiance, but when i became pregnant he would follow me every where and when i sat down or went to bed, hed lay either on my tummy or by my side (once my tummy go too big). then after my son was born he would lay every where with the baby...next to the crib, on the floor next to my son..anywhere! animals have a special sense about that for sure!!!

my cats, when i 1st got them, 1 always laid near my heart, and the other always laid on my tummy...i was about 3 months when i got them.....last night, we got a baby staffordshire bulldog puppy(who thinks HE is a CAT lol), he just had to lay up by my shoulders.....and all day, he's more "content" laying on the top of my belly.....no, he's not huge, he's maybe 5 lbs right now.....but the cats follow me around, lol, and sometimes my "baby" Hyde, will follow me freakin everywhere, bathroom to potty etc, and if i take a bath, he perches himself at the back of the tub and keeps me company lol.....

my cat and dog kept hanging around me before i knew that i was pregnant, and then as i got bigger they didn't care, but i the last 2 months my dog became very protective of me and if i took her in the car she would guard me not let anyone near me which she isn't like that usually. but about a week before i went into labour, both my cat and dog wouldn't leave me alone they hung around me 24/7. and now that my son is 9 monthsold they both love him to death always wanting to be around my son. btw my dog is as big as my cat lol.

lol isn't it just so weird how they just "know" when you're pregnant/going to be going into labor or whatever. i'm starting to get used to the extra attention from them now. i'm hoping they all take well to both boys. i'm sure the kitten and lucky will but chester....i'm not sure how he'll do. it took us forever for him to just sniff my nephew without throwing a tantrum. he's so jealous. he always wants all the attention.

My dog was the same, although, when I would say "where's the baby", he would run up to me and start licking my belly.  Once I gave birth and would say it, he would go up to the baby and lick him.

ok the pets are not getting jelous if they are following you around, they are watching over u making sure nothing happends.  but some animals can get jelous after u have the babies, but not always sometimes its misunderstood bye trying to watch over the baby. they know that the baby can not take care of it self yet, and those of u that have female cats that have had litters watch out because the cat will lay near the babys head trying to nurce them, i dont get it nither but it happends and its not good for the little ones but the cats dont understand so trying to keep the cats out of the room when the baby is alone is a great idea for anyone who needs it
