If you dont get a period, then you didnt ovulate that cycle. You can ovulate after a missed period is due but its hard to know when that will occur if the menstrual cycles are irregular.
ARE YOU PREGGERS? if not,
Technically, you cannot ovulate without having your period first. If you "skip" a period, it actually means that you have a longer cycle. There are many reasons for changes in your cycle length. Stress (good or bad), travel, new job, etc. can all cause a delayed ovulation and therefore delay your period..
Your body must menstrate and create a new cycle for ovulation to occur, if you hadnt alreay ovulated ... bug hug*:O) erika
so you menstrate first and then ovulate? or ovulate and then menstrate? i'm confused.
heres the deal: i'm 13 days late. negative pg test (multiple)
will i ovulate before i get my next peroid or not??? what could be going on???
You can ovulate without having had a period- yes! The reason being that ovulation determines your next menstrual cycle. Here's a great, easy-to-read article by our own resident OBGYN here at MedHelp:

You ovulate first and then menstruate. Your uterine lining will not build up and slough off (which is a period) unless you first ovulate. So if you did not have a period, you can still ovulate.
