painful baby movements?

has anyone felt movement that hurt? I am 16 weeks and glad to be feeling it but it is sometimes really uncomfortable. Is this normal?

maybe they are older and therefore stronger than 16 wks?

MomNPain, I worry alot too when I dont feel the movements but I think its normal. I read that "babies are people and they have up days and down days". If I ever get too worried, and this is kind of mean :(  but I've only done it twice, but I get a flashlight and put in on my belly and it always moves to avoid the light. But dont do it alot, it may be somewhat disturbing..

Don't worry hun! I'm sure you just aren't recognizing the movements. At first they feel similar to gas bubbles. Sometimes they feel like twitches. They are easily mistakable for stomach gurgles. They always happen in the lower abdominen. And I have found they usually occur when I am relaxed and content. And later they become more pronounced and sometimes fairly painful!

And rememeber that movements happens around 16-20 weeks so everything is ok, nothing to worry about. Let us know when you feel it :)

Ok, since my last post on here, the movements have become somewhat painful. I could feel the baby move from one side of my stomach to the other and it hurt soooo bad like, my skin and in my lower back. It felt like right on the inside where I was feeling the movements was just being stretched way too tightly way too quickly. So, I'm also experiencing the decrease in fetal movement. I was feeling him/her quite frequently throughout the day. Today, I've only felt the bean once, and that was when he/she moved.

Could it be Braxton Hicks? Mine have started "I think" and it feels really uncomfortabal. It feels like her stretching my tummy out. After that she starts kicking and tapping, like I did it...lol I've never had kicks hurt though until around 24-26 wks when they are big enough to reach the ribs and are slowly running outta room. Right now your baby doesn't expand up to your belly button even. That occurs around 20 wks. As long as it's not bringing you to your knees, you are probably fine.

Oh, I'm so glad I'm not the only one...over the weekend I felt my baby kick and move around alot more, which I was happy about, but it hurts!!! There's times where I'm like flinching and telling him to "hurry and move" lol.  But I don't mind it in a way, but it does hurt sometimes...does it mean I have to drink more water so the baby has more room to mover around maybe??

It could take time.. It depends on your body....With my second, I didn't feel her move until almost 18 weeks... that's because I'm a lil' on the chunky side.... lol..... It just depends.....

It could possibly be the baby stretching......My youngest used to do that and  it hurt so bad.

I'm 16 weks too and have to admit that sometimes the movement can be somewhat uncomfortable. It feels like my little bean is dragging his/her heel or elbow across my uterus or something.

I'm really glad to be feeling movement too, and they're starting to get stronger and stronger by the day. Exciting stuff!
