quitting smoking while pregnant!

Im 4 weeks pregnant just found out yesterday. Im trying to quit smoking. Only had one today and I used to smoke half a pack a day (10+). Whats the best way to handle this? I dont want to hurt my baby but im afraid that the stress of a nic fit will hurt my baby too. Any other moms find success quitting? I need to hear some success stories!

I quit the day I got my bfp I was nearly 6 weeks. I was worried that I would stress the baby out but went & had my u/s a week later and we have a healthy bean with a HB of 138 at 7 weeks. Try to think that every time u take a drag it goes to yr child thats really what got me to quit was knowing I had a kid growin in me. I'm now 9w and perfectly fine.

try electric ciggs then. because smoking SOMETIMES causes miscarriages and also your baby can have health problems when he is born. a lot of babys have bad health problems like bad lungs and bad hearts. think about it first. even a drag of smoke is hurting your baby.

Im trying to ween off by just having a few drags after fighting an urge for 30 mins +. Im scared to death of having a miscarriage bc all ive ever wanted was to be a mother but im worried that the stress of quitting cold turkey is more harmful in the longrun and three or four puffs of one a day until I just dont want one

I'm 11 weeks and quit with in y he first week of finding out. The fact that I was so sick all the time and that the smell of cigarettes alone made me sick made it alot easier for me to just stop. It still was not easy to quit cold turkey.  I would just smoke maybe afourth of one whenever I felt the urge and eeventually didnt want one.

I smoked fairly heavily before being pregnant probably 3/4 pack a day and when I confirmed I was pregnant at doctors at 6 weeks I quit cold turkey! And haven't thought about them since! U can do it if u set ur mind to it and I smoked for years

i use to smoke 10-15 cigs a day . Found out at six weeks i was pregnant and stopped completely. It was hard at first but everytime i craved one id look up the risks of smoking while pregnant and i was like nope im not doing anything to hurt my baby. Im almost 31 weeks and havent touched a cig since i foundout i was pregnant. It gets easier i promise :)

Smoking while pregnant can cause your Fetus to develop a Cleft palate or clef lip especially in the early stages of development. There were a few women that told their devesatin stories on this site. I wish you the Best. Keep in mind that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure ♥
