I just want to say that I am sorry! I dont know much about GD but my grandma has had D almost all her life... Its rough but you just need to follow your doctors orders and try to eat small meals startch is just sugars watch the carbs..... I would lean more to fruits and meats until you get to see your doctor.... If you start to feel dizzy or light headed try a piece of chocolate or Orange Juice. Most likely means your sugar is dropping..... Good luck to you!
All the stuff i just printed off the internet said to eat more carbs.....that it should be what you eat most of. Man i have such a headache. I guess i'll just have to wait and see what my doctor says. LOL i agree with you about men
cut back on your carbs!! bread, pasta, anything with grains and starch!! Any kind or protein is classified a freebie!! meat, eggs, peanut butter!! I had a counselor explain to my dh before that I don't need him here to try to solve all of my problems, I just need him to listen to me so that I can process things better!! I think it is just part of men's nature to want to help, even though they really aren't doing a damn thing!!
I have no idea, I didn't actually talk to my doctor, someone called me back b/c i called to find out the results. He mentioned that the doctor would be teaching me to take my sugar levels everyday and talk to me about a new diet but thats all they really said. The thing is i really dont drink anything but water, and i dont really eat sweets, so i dont know what i am supposed to change if i dont have that stuff to begin with. I am sooo pissed of at my fiance, he thinks he knows everything and that nothing is a big deal.....he is so insentive sometimes it drives me nuts. Why do men think they know everything?! when infact the are so far off its not even funny.
my sister was just given the same news last week. She had to buy a monitor and test strips, and has to check her blood sugar levels 4 times a day. She has to write it in a log and bring it with her to her appointments so that they can see where her levels are at! Are they going to have you meet with a diabetes specialist or a nutritionalist to come up with a better diet for you?
I've never had it, but I believe you have to stick to a regular diabetes diet. I would just stay away from the sugars and I think starches until you see your Dr. Good luck! I've read it's really not a big deal as long as you follow the Drs orders.
