I have anemia and my doctor gave me some pills and they make me really sick.. but i still take them. But the thing is that a lot of my family members are scarring me telling me that my boy might be born sick! Because of the anemia! Do you girls know if this is true? And what can i do to get rid of the anemia faster?!

im anemic too. just got prescribed my meds last week. im fine so far. im sure our babies will be fine or they wouldnt be giving it to us. ita us being annemic not the baby

I was very sick my first pregnancy but wasn't anemic. They wanted to start me on an iron supplement to prevent anemia but they made me even more sick.. I'm currently 31 wks 6 days with my second and am anemic. My doctor prescribed an iron supplement that's different than most iron pills, it's got a sugar base or something that makes it easier for the body to absorb.  I take it at night before bed so it doesn't affect me as bad. Talk to your ob and see about it. It's called ferralet 90 I believe.

First, talk to your doctor.  Try taking an iron supplement as well and they now make a special iron supplement formula (for mommys that breastfeed) but if you are formula feeding as well.

You're probably anemic because your baby has taken a lot of your iron. Babies store iron because they won't be getting any for at least 6 months since they only drink milk.

I don't think there are that many side effects for baby, other than they tend to be born a little early or a little small.

But from my understanding, doctors are more concerned for your safety because you lose so much blood during L&D. Ask your doctor for more info.
