scared...not sure what to think??

So, I finally got my BFP and we are so excited!!!! I went to my first doctor's appt on 10-21 and he told me I was 8-10 weeks and scheduled me for an u/s. I went to the u/s on Monday and they told me I was really only 6 weeks 5 days...okay I can live with that. But, the gestational sac appeared to be empty to the tech, so he paged the doctor. When the doctor came in he said he could see the yolk sac and the baby (it looked like the tiniest little speck to me) and not to worry. Then when I met with the doctor and the nurse after the scan he told me I need to come back in a week for another u/s to see if this pregnancy is viable. I lost it...I was sobbing and was so upset. The doctor just walked away and said schedule your appt. So, I'm really not sure if I should be worried or not? Was it just to early to see anything? Please help!

Thanks guys! An u/s tech from the office called today and told me that a matter of just a few days can make a difference in seeing something...so I feel much better! My fingers are crossed for Monday, but at least I'm not hysterical anymore (my DH is thankful too...lol)!

@Grandmatobe...I have no clue where they got the 8-10 weeks! Maybe it was because I told him that my LMP (9-24) was very light (but still there for 4 days), and he calculated from LMP being 9-1. I knew that wasn't right! We were trying and I was tracking, so I knew my actual LMP was 9-24!

what a jerk to walk away!  I think no matter what happens you should see another doctor!  I agree that it is prob too early.  That um DOCTOR (sorry, I feel he wasn't very caring to you) did say he could see something.  Hold onto that.  Best wishes!

Based on your LMP, I think it was too early to see anything.  I'm glad they are doing a repeat ultrasound in another week, because you should be able to see something for sure by then.  There was no way you were 8-10 weeks at your appointment on 10/21, if your LMP was 9/24.  How did they come up with that figure?

yes, I think I am 6 weeks (well, 7 now) my LMP was 9-24-10 and my cycles are anywhere from 22-24 days...I got my BFP on 10-19-10. I had an intravaginal u/s...I'm just freaking out because I've been reading that some people have heard the heartbeat and their pics actually have "something" in them...mine is just an empty sac. So who knows, I'm trying not to stress but it's hard not too. Especially when I have questions and the doctor's office won't call me back!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!! >:(

When was your last menstral period, are you regular, and when did you get your bfp? Do you think you are really 8-10 weeks? If you are really 6 weeks along, you shouldn't see too much at all. Was an intravaginal or external ultrasound done?

some doctors are just A$$holes!! Ugh!! If you are only 6 weeks along then yes its too early to see much. Try not to stress and go back for your follow up u/s. Im sure by next week you will see more:) I have never had an u/s that early, honestly it would scare the crap out of me to not see a baby and heart beat, lol!
Best of luck to you!!!
