My mil works at a shelter. The one she works at is for homeless or battered women and their kids. There's a time limit of how long you can stay there something like 3 months I think. They get food and activities and sessions with the kids and things like that. Minimal room. And you can't just walk up in there you have to call ahead and be approved basically. Hope there's something near you that you can use!
@ashbud thanks love , I didn't even know that. I will look into it!
There are shelters strictly for pregnant women that are funded by churches they had a couple in Waco and ive never stayed in one but if someone needs it Ithink it's great.
Thanks girls. What would I do without y'all sometimes??? (: . @gordonbaby yea I've really been trying to get this thing going! Thanks hun! @gatorgirl thank you, I'm going to inbox you so you can explain to me
The stories I have heard are of limits to resources. In other words, whole families would not get in, but a mother with kids would, but even so it's kind of dormitory style living, tough especially on the mom who has to keep her kids corralled. Go with gatorgirl's advice and see what you can find.
My family has been homeless. Its the worst feeling in the world. We lived in our car could not get any help what so ever. All the shelters here only took eathier woman and children or only men. We refused to be seperated. But I have heard good things about them helping pregnant woman get stable. Also try church outreaches. We were lucky to get help within a few days threw a church. This was when my son was first born 6 years ago. But I still remember how it felt being helpless and having no place to go! I wish I could just put you on my couch sweetie. I hope it all works out for you and soon!
I hope all works out for you luv. I know you have been looking to go. Sorry I can't help : /
Nope but I really need to move and another place to live, no kids yet but 6 months pregnant
..what exactly have you heard ? If you don't mind me asking
Are you by yourself and in a spot where you need it (i.e., being harmed or at risk)? Do you have kids? The stories I have heard about emergency shelters are pretty varied depending on location and the woman's circumstances.
