unsure of pregnancy

Hello. I have been trying to get pregnant with my husband. I am unsure of the date of my last period. my husband and I have been trying for the past week. I was wondering if I could possibly be pregnant. I'm not sure when to take a pregnancy test. Did I mention, I was born 3 months premature and only weighed 1 lb. 11.5 oz.

This is only if you did indeed ovulate on those days. You have to remember these are only guidelines and you could have ovulated late, or could have had late implantation if you did conceive. Your best bet is to wait to see if your period comes as it should.

Because you were born premature shouldnt affect you and being pregnant... Think of dwarfs that have children and think of dwarfs who end up having children that grow to normal size peoples. Prematurity shouldn't affect you, I shouldnt think so, But you can check up with your GP.
Well, have you missed your period and are they regular? I would say test with FMU, and remember ANY positive is still a positive, strong or faint. And it doesnt mean you're likey too miscarry if its faint, just the HCG in your body and means you're not as far gone as thought maybe?
Test with FMU and take it from there. I wish you luck.

STICKY BABY DUST!

If you've only been trying for a week, and you don't even know when your last cycle was, it's hard to say. You need to wait a minimum of two weeks from your last sexual encounter and test with first morning urine. You also should keep in mind that every month you only have a 25% chance of pregnancy and it can take up to 1-2 years to concieve, so try not to go into it thinking it will happen ASAP. If you don't get pregnant this month, try charting your cycles so you know when your periods are, and if ou have irregular cycles I would also recommend OPKs so you know when you ovulate.

Hi armywife

That's great news you are ttc.  I think you should do some research on the net about ovulation and everything like that.  With my first two pregnancies it took us 6 months of trying with both of them.  At first I thought I ovulated on day 10 to 14.  At the beginning of this year my husband and I decided to try for another one and I fell pregnant straight away.  We did lose him in April.  I didn't try after the miscarriage but I tried after my first cycle and am pregnant again.

I only say all this because when I was a teenager I had unprotected sex with a few partners and NEVER fell pregnant (stupid I now know)  Then it took my hubby and I 6 months to conceive my two children.  Between my first and second I never used any contraception so I guess you could say it took us 14 months to fall pregnant with our daughter but 6 months actively trying.

Some tips I learnt when ttc is not to push anything out after ejaculation.  Whenever I would race to push everything out I never fell pregnant.  Keep an eye out for egg white cervical mucus this is a sure indicator you are approaching ovulation.  If you are confused with ewcm and semen you can put it in water.  Semen is suppose to evaporate and cm rolls up into a ball and sinks to the bottom.

There are plenty of ovulation calenders online.  They can give you an idea of when ovulation is likely to occur.  If you Bd every second day then you should have a high change.  Opk's are also a good indicator.  I used them with this pregnancy and bd around the time I got a positive for opk and now I am pregnant.  I did get negatives for a week but finally got my positive.  When you get a positive opk you will normally ovuate with 12 to 36 hours after the positive.

You can normally take a pregnancy test at 10dpo.  That is when the egg is released or when you bd.  Once fertilisation occurs the egg takes about a week to implant.  You won't get a positive pregnancy test until the egg has implanted because it won't produce hcg until it does.

I hope all that helps and I hope you get a bfp soon

not knowing when your last period was makes it a bit more difficult.
Do you remember you previous two cycles from your last? If you do you could look at the length of time between those and go from that.
Also if you are trying and unsure when you are fertile, keep trying every other day, and that should help you to catch the egg when its released.
Also look at your cervical mucus. When it becomes, clear, slipperly, very wet and stretchy (being able to stretch it about an inch or more between your fingers) that is when you are most fertile. The last day you see this type of mucus will be the day of ovulation or the day after ovulation.
Once that mucus dissapears test about 2 weeks after that, and that should give you a correct result. Best of luck to you.

You're still very young, and you've not actually been trying for too long. It can take a long time to get pregnant. It's very normal to have to try for a few months before it happens. About the sperm coming out. That's normal too. You don't need all of it in you anyways. It only takes one to fertilize an egg, and (if I can remember right) one drop contains millions of sperm. Just keep tracking and trying, and it will happen.

after bd rest for at least 20mins with your hips elevated with a pillow. This will help the healthy sperm to swim to the egg. What comes out is unheathly sperm and semen. Don't worry abt it coz the healthy sperm will be gone already to the egg.
It will happen for you.Don't stress!

You don't want to have sex too frequently. Men need at least 36 hours between each ejaculation to allow the sperm to replenish. (or so I've read and been told) Because sperm also live in the female body for 3-5 days, it's also not necessary. When you are at your fertile time, you could either have sex everyday you're fertile, or every other day.

You get the most accurate results actually waiting until your period is missed or due. There are tests out there that can detect pregnancy up to 5 days before your period is due, but these also only work about half the time and are more accurate the closer to your period you get.
