okayy so after my test comes out postive.
i should have intercourse that day and like 4 days after??
okay i bought ovulation test yesterday so i should go home and
check my temperature and then take the test and if its high
we can try lol
It's best to do it either every day or every other day starting about 2 days BEFORE you ovulate. An egg is only viable for about 24 hours after its released. Sperm can survive 48-72 hours once they are released. So if you get a positive OPK you should have sex that day and possibly the next day and then the third day after...and the fourth just to be sure if you want. If you take your BBT every day, when you notice a defiante spike in the temperature then you know you have definately ovulated and as long as you have had intercourse for a coupel days before and a couple days after then there really isn't much more you can do but leave it up to mother nature and hope the egg and sperm meet. A woman has about a 25% chance of getting pregnant each month if she has intercourse around the time of ovulation. A normal, healthy couple can take up to a year and possibly more of trying to conceive before they actually do.
thankyou so much im going to print this out.
so i can keep track of my bbt on line??
right??
and okay say if it says i will ovulate in the next two days
do i wait two days then have intrecouse??
or do i do it the day i test anyways???
and say if it comes out positive and i do have intrecourse,,
how big are my chances of getting pregnante??
BBT is your basal body temperature. If you google "charting BBT" you can find a slew of websites that will explain how to do it.
An OPK is an ovulation predictor kit. You can buy these at the store, it's kind of like a preg test but its testing for a surge in luteneizing hormone. 24-48 hrs before ovulation your body will have a definitive surge of LH that helps it gear up for ovulation.
BBT is the most accurate way of knowing when you ovulate. But you can use the two in combination. If you use the opk's then you will want to have intercourse that day and possibly the next couple of days or every other day for a few days.
By using the opks and bbt in conjuction you can get a pretty accurate idea of when in your cycle you ovulate. As I said OPKs tell you that you SHOULD ovulate in the next day or two. Where as a spike in your BBT will tell you that you DID in fact ovulate in the last 24 hours.
When charting your BBT there are other signs you can keep up with as well that will help you to learn your cycle, things like cervical mucus, cervical position, other symptoms like cramping, breast tenderness etc. Medhelp has a great ovulation tracker that you can use to keep up with all of these things. You can find it under mymedhelp under trackers.
whats my BBT?? and whats a OPK??..
and after i do get a positive what do i do??
do me and my fiance try after it comes out positive since we are
ttc??
or do i just wait till my period comes??
You can start using the OPK's but keep in mind you may have already missed the ovulation for this cycle (if you have actually started your cycle) or it may take awhile to get a positive for ovulation. A better way would be to track your BBT, it's more accurate than the OPK's. OPK's only tell you that you are LIKELY to ovulate in the next 24-48 hours whereas BBT charting can tell you that you have definately ovulated in the previous 24 hours
will an ovulation test help me try to figure it out
cause i know after my D&C my doctor told me that
my regular cycle should come in 4-5 weeks.
It will take your body time to heal and adjust to the hormone crash after a D&C. Give your body time. While it is possible to become pregnant again right after a miscarriage it is rare.
Also, your D&C is not considered your previous period as it was not a period. So you can't really know that you're due to have a period on the 16th. Your period comes about 2 weeks after ovulation so if you know if and when you ovulated then you can more accurately predict when your period should arrive.
Good luck and keep us posted!
