Look online for groups for parents of people with Downs. They will be happy to talk with you about what its really like,so you can get a better idea of what you should do. I've heard many parents say they've had a surprisingly very positive experience.
Did you get your panorama screening blood test which detects Down syndrome and other abnormalities. It's a DNA test and then also looks at the chromosomes that are in mothers blood and fetal blood. It's 99% accurate. There are more than one problems that could be wrong that could be associated with down syndrome but it does not mean that your baby has down syndrome. If your child has more than one soft marker on the ultrasound then that would be concerning such as the bones don't match up , extra neck folds, ill regular hands ,feet, flat nasal bone, or sometimes problems with the organs. The only way to truly know is to do an amniocentesis but it is very risky you have to ask yourself are you willing to take care of a baby who has down syndrome. If you know in your heart that you cannot then I'd recommend a aminoentesis only if a genetic counselor feels you're at high risk.

Ahh, honey. This is new information and a lot to deal with. And remember they can be wrong. Are you seeing a specialist soon to discuss this? Take this one day at a time and sit with this for awhile to see how you feel. Hugs
