overweight and ttc

hello i have a question for one of my gfs she has been trying to get preg. for 1 1/2 now with no results she has pcos..and was put on metformin..recently went on clomid..and has ovulated i think at least 2 cycles on it she is really overweight but her RE dosent seem to mind about her weight issue..i honestly think that thas whats stopping her from getting preg. has anyone in here who is overweight and i mean like plus plus i wanna say she is 5'8 and weights about 330lbs..has anyone her weight gotten preg. before? what can i tell her she should do? the doc. says she is overweight do to her pcos problem..do you guys think she should contniue with clomid or stop ? anything would help..thanx

Thank you so much i copy and pasted what u said and i e-mailed to her because she dint believe me...lol she has been ovulating from what her RE has told her twice already with clomid and this is her third round..she is expecting her AF on july 16 she will be testing that day..im hoping she does get a BFP..if not she will go on femara she has asked her RE and he says thas fine too...thank you so much for helping!! good luck with ur pregnancy!!

she should continue the metformin and clomid if she wants to get pregnant.  many girls with pcos have weight problems - very common.    Also, I am not a doctor but  it does seem that clomid is practically required to get you pregnant if you have pcos.  I got pregnant twice with pcos and had two miscarriages - both times I ovulated on like day 30.  Once I started femara (like clomid), I ovulated on day 13 and I got pregnant on the first round and am now 12 weeks (although I am in a different category than your friend - only 10 pounds above my "normal" weight).  I would just try to support your friend.  I am sure the thought of losing a lot of weight is very daunting but they say even 10-15 pounds lost can help with pcos.  Weight loss with pcos is also very difficult but  plenty of overweight girls have babies every day.  So wish her good luck and try to support her!!
