worried, could this cause a miscarriage?

Im 12 weeks pregnant (saw heartbeat last week, and everything great).  I found out a family friend had passed away yesterday and I was so very upset...very emotional, crying, etc..Someone told me I could harm the baby being that upset and now I'm worried that I did something...
Could I have caused a problem?

I worried about the same thing.  my grandmother (who raised me) just passed over the summer I was 10 weeks....my family didnt even tell me right away as fear they may have an effect on the baby....I have had at least 2 other MAJOR stressful events and...... I am 21 weeks today :O) and I swear she is growing like crazy.  you need to greive and dont worry our lil ones are VERY resiliant.  Sorry for you loss.  Hang in there

No don't worry.  Everyone has emotional ups and downs during pregnancy.  This is totally normal and will not harm the fetus.  I am so sorry for the loss of your friend.
