Ultrasound Temptation

I'm in trouble.

I wasn't supposed to have my ultrasound to determine the sex until the 29th of this month, and had a regular visit today at 18 weeks.  DH didn't come since it was supposed to be a boring, pee-in-a-cup visit. My OB/GYN is a friend and said, "Do you want to take a peek?"

I should have said, "No, Thanks" and waited for my DH but I kind of got caught up in the moment.  How can you pass up an opportunity to see your little baby?!  Especially when you worry as much as a pregnant woman does!!

Anyway, even though it was a super fast look, they could see that she looks like a girl.  Which is exciting, but now my husband is mad at me for looking.

Excited for a girl, but feeling yucky about looking without my DH.  :(

I've updated the list.  Your little girl makes it a tie between the pink and blue team.

I'm due around May 28th and I'm thinking of naming her Mylee Jo.

Good advice, Dottie! That's pretty much what I did -- downplayed the whole thing and told him we only got a quick peak and couldn't really tell.  I'm still looking forward to confirming the sex (as much as they can) at the 29th U/S.

Yay a girl!

I think all you can do is throw yourself on the mercy of the court.  Tell him you are weak and couldn't stop yourself.  You are very sorry and now you own him a get outta trouble free card.

I'm not knocking tho.  I would have done the same thing.  I'm weak like that to.  And as my DH always says, "ask for forgiveness not for permission."  :)

Congrats on your little girl!!

Don't worry I would have done the same thing although I probably would have tried not to tell him (and failed of course).  Just tell him that it was hard to tell and just act super excited later this month when he's there to double check.  Glad you got to see your baby (girl)!

Thanks for the reassurance, ladies!  I'm trying not to feel too guilty.  It was SO wonderful to see my little baby, and it wasn't a sure thing on the sex at all.  We'll have another opportunity at the end of the month to look again (together).

We're waiting until after the baby is born for a baby shower.  We have all boy clothes from our first son who is now 1 1/2.  But most of the decorations and toys go either way.

I don't care if it's a boy or a girl...although it's hella-fun finding out!

Don't carry so much yucky around it isn't good for ya besides the is no such thing as any DR visit when it comes to a baby visit. I bet he'll cange his mind next appt. Good luck and I agree with tahariel stay with yellow and green. Best of luck.

Hopefully hubby will decide to go with you to your future appointments. And, maybe rest assured in the fact that ultrasounds can be misleading. I've had friends who have decorated and filled their nurseries based on ultrasound genders, only to be very, very surprised on birth day. Congrats on being able to see your little one though!
