kick count - when to freak out??

So I am 30w2d today and this morning I'm not really feeling my DD moving much.  Over night I remember one time that I felt her when I turned over (the last few nights, it's been everytime I moved I could feel her move).  So now this morning, not much is going on either.  My doctor hasn't offiicially had me start a kick count yet (he said at 32 w) - but he did tell me to count 10 kicks in 2 hours and if I don't get 10, to go another hour and sit still and see if I can get to 10.  It's 9:45am here now, I've been up for almost 3 hours and I haven't felt much.  I started a log at about 8:45 and have gotten up to 6 or 7 now, but that is a stretch - I'm not sure if some were her or just me thinking it was.  I've had fruit and a bagel and chocolate milk and coffee - and now I'm on to a coke and half a chocolate donut and still nothing exciting happening.

when do I freak out??  I'm starting to, but don't want to stress her out even more........what should I do??

thanks!

You know I started out as high risk - 4 previous mc's - and thought I would be having u/s all the time and ever since I was released from my RE to my regular OB (who is high risk) everything has been fine, so I don't really fall into high risk anymore!  I'm kinda bummed by that becuase I was hoping for more peeks at the baby!  I guess it is a good thing, but at this point, age is the only thing that makes me high risk.  My blood pressure and sugar have been borderline but so far that hasn't gotten me anything but a diet - no u/s!

That happens to me EVERY time. :0) LOL.

I'm at the point now in my high-risk pregnancy that I go in 2x/week: one for NST and one for BFP (Biophysical Profile) ultrasound. That has really relieved my worry! But, like you, I would have called to have them check it out and they've reassured me that calling is EXACTLY what we're supposed to do.

Phew!! Now you can go and have a wonderful day!

well, I called the doctor - they had me come in for NST.  I guess it's like bringing your car to the mechanic when it is making noises and then doesn't do a darn thing when you are there!  They hooked me up and off she went.....tossing and turning and flipping around like a fish out of water with a great hb!  Just wanted to be a little stinker this morning and scare me!  All is fine now, she is moving around a little more now, but I tell you what with the monitors on, it was like she was on stage and performing.  Maybe I have myself a little actress!

thanks ladies!

You may want to contact your doctor. Although, baby may be in a different position this morning, such as facing inward, so that you are not feeling the movements as clearly. I will be 33 weeks this weekend and up until just recently, my little one would occasionally turn inward. Baby was still moving, I just could not feel them as strong or clearly as when baby is facing outward. Hopefully the chocolate donut will get your baby moving for you. A glass of fruit juice and a handful of m&ms would usually get my little one bouncing around. I would also notice that if baby had a particularly busy evening, the next morning would be a little more quiet until later in the day. Best wishes!
