At my first ultrasound, my due date was exactly were I predicted it. At my 2nd ultrasound they moved it up by 4 days, which physically was not possible as I know exactly when I conceived (I keep track of everything and it's impossible to have this new due date without physical contact!). So I guess it's no big deal and probably better to have a bigger baby than a smaller one.
We only had my u/s to go by as I didn't have AF before this pregnancy (I had just miscarried). But I know this happens alot. It's because of the uncertainty of conception date...impossible to pinpoint even for those with the most regular cycles. So they adjust backwards based on a 28 day cycle. Really really common.
They moved my due date from June 1st back to May 27 after a month of ultrasounds..... been told it is not uncommon.....since they go by lmp, sometimes your conception date doesn't match with their 14 day cycle.....we all have different cycles, so there is no true norm.......
however the baby will come when the baby is ready, not on some date a doctor chose.....
best wishes..............
Im in that same boat! I had what was a light lmp (but exactly on time) but the u/s dates me 5 days before that. They did move my due date up because of it. Weird but ok!
Mine only changed with my last one because he measured 3 wks ahead...just turned out that he was a big baby. I had to have him 3 weeks early and he still weighed 8lbs.
With both of my boys, my ultrasound showed a few days ahead then what my lmp was. It is all basically a "range" anyway! Your baby will come when he/she is ready!!!!
That's not uncommon at all, especially since it's only a 3-day difference. You could easily have ovulated 3 days earlier than the "standard" day 14 they go by when using LMP.
