painful sex after D&C

Help! Two and a half weeks ago had a d&c that I really did NOT want to go through to finish a miscarriage (7 weeks along). My gyn is very clinical, thorough, but a bit rough. I am now worried about scarring--first time we had sex since d&c was VERY painful--even after we were given the all-clear from the gyn. Felt too tight--we used lube--still hurt--should we wait it out or try again?

Thanks all--doc said today that this may be some injury from the catheter that was used to empty my bladder. Yes--Ouch!

I was told to wait a month after the D&C for sex (and two menstrual cycles to try to conceive, as you want a good uterine lining for a potential pregnancy).  We did wait, and I had no pain.  My D&C was very thorough also (I bled for two weeks), but like I said, I had no pain after the wait, and an ultrasound for a subsequent pregnancy showed my uterus was totally normal.  I don't think it's likely you have any longerm problem; I would give yourself another two weeks to heal and try not to worry!

From my experience of a D&C, I did have discomfort for the first 2 weeks, was told not to have sex for 2 weeks and ended up waiting 12 days, by the 14th day I was fine, consequently, got pregnant again straight after but 7 weeks in have discovered that it is not viable and will miscarry again so maybe I should have waited.

I was told to wait two weeks and follow up appt to be sure cervix was closed. Once that was determined, I was given the green light. I was 12wks 1 day when hb stopped. At two weeks after it was still quite sore to bd. I think it started feeling normal again around 4wks later.

Backgroung on the mc--discovered failed preg sept. 17--Doc had me take cytotech ten days later to jumpstart mc as my body was doing nothing. 12 days after cytotech I was still bleeding--about one pad per day--gyno demanded the d&c three days later--I bled ANOTHER 13 days after d&c--after the gyno gave all clear, I waited three more days until no spotting--we thought we were ready. No, I'm not bleeding now--thank god! BUT, I think the d&c left damage as my urethra is out further than before and there seems to be some rough edges to labia--none of that is supposed to be rough. I'm calling my gyno in the morning to report.

I was wondering myself what the wait time is for intimacy. I was told to wait until bleeding stops and now mine has started again. I'm hoping this wasn't my fault as we attempted to become intimate a week after the D&C. I thought it would be ok since I only slighty bled for 2 days and was feeling physically fine a week later. I thought being so close would help us both emotionally and I felt ready. Well, it was too painful and I started bleeding a couple of days later. Are you bleeding again too?
