High FSH (need advice)

I'm new at this and have never posted anything online but I recieved devastating news last week from my ob-gyn and am so confused. I am 30 years old and my husband and I decided to it's time to have children. I haven't been trying but went to my doctor for my annual and discussed my plans so she set up some testing and gave me some good tips on health and fitness. Well to my surprise I got a call a week later that my fsh came back at 23. She said she had not expected it and that I need to see a RE. I am completely regular every 28 day and alway have been. I have been using the OPK packs for the last 2 months and detect a LH surge on day 13. My estradiol came back normal at 27.160. Also I did a fertell test at home on day 14 that came back negative. I know FSH fluctuates but I thought I'd for sure test positive. From my understanding midcyle fsh is usually higher. I just wonder about lab error. My sister and mother took a while to get pregnant I guess from what they say. It's hard to stay positive with all the negative stuff out there about FSH over 20. I know this is wishful thinking but does anyone know or hear of lab errors. My doctor said the hole picture didn't look right and something seemed off. She did say she felt I could concieve but it may be more difficult and that although I tested high it may be an indication of low quantity not low quality given my age. If anyone has any insight, advice, opinons or encouragement I'd love to hear it. I'm a runner too and recently changed my excercise routine so it's not so harsh on my body. I have extremely low fat for a girl and am muscular.. just born that way.. never lifted a weight. Sometimes I wonder about my hormones..

The HCG level was 9 today.  It is a miscarriage.  I don't know what I will do next.  The RE is out of town.  I have an appointment on the 10th to discuss what to do next.

I am ok except I just found out that my husband's company is switching insurance companies in January.  The new company is not in network with my doctor.  While my insurance didn't cover fertility treatments it did cover the blood tests.  I am now going to pay thousands more out of pocket.  I cried the most over that.

Oh my goodness!!!   I don't know whether to be elated that you are pregnant or concerned and frightened about your HCG levels?!!  I am certainly keeping you in my prayers.  I am so sorry for what you must be going through right now.   What are you planning to do next if this doesn't work out the way you'd hoped?  Please keep me posted.   Lisa

Went to the RE today.  My HCG level was 21.9.  Awefully low for day 16PO.  They were hoping for 70 -100.  I may be in the middle of a miscarriage.  They say that I am pregnant but we will know more when they re-test on Friday.  Either the level will go up or down.

Try the clomid first.  See what happens.  God is in this.  We have to surrender to him in the end.   I went through a round of many injectibles every kind only gave me one egg.  What you have to take it day by day and if you are sucessful great.  If you are not then you can do IVF.  My RE was able to make me create 7 good eggs with the protocol I listed.  I have spent over 12,000 in drugs alone - not counting the IVF.  You can however borrow money as they do have sources for this if you ever need.  We will turn to them next as we have blown our savings.  Your insurance should pay for some things like blood tests.  Mine didn't pay for fertility treatments but it capped some of the costs for blood work and paid part of those.

I took a Preg test Sunday and the line was light pink (New Brand).  It was definitly positive.  I tested yesterday and today to see if it was getting darker but it got lighter.  I don't know what that means.  I don't know if I lost it or what.  I will know tomorrow.  It was really pale today.  (I used first urine and everything.)  I hate to think that I miscarried at Christmas but I guess that if we are meant to be here God will find a way.  I am sounding so religious now.  I will post as soon as I find out what has happened.

I think you are testing too early.  But, if the line is getting darker that is great news!!  If you test again tomorrow and it is even darker still than you'll know it's not the HCG shot, but your BFP.  Because the HCG will be moving it's way out of your system and the authentic HCG your body is producing will be increasing in your sysem.  Wow, I can hardly wait to hear back from you on how this turns out.

I looked back at one of your earlier posts about how important it is to move aggressively with my high FSH.  I'm a little worried now I'm not doing enough.  But, my dr. said injectables really wouldn't increase my chances that much and for the price was better to just try the IUI's with Clomid.  I would be paying out of pocket over $1500.00 for the injectables each cycle and there are no guarantees.  Then I have to add the ds price so, another $700.00.  I just don't have enough money for all that.  But, like we've both said we can only do so much.  It's ultimately in Gods hands.  I'll have to trust him.
