Can I Still Be Pregnant And Have My Cycle

This is my concern. My cycles are always 25 days apart, and then this month I only went 16 days and cycled again. My husband and I are trying to have a baby and I am not if I could be pregnant and still having my cycle, and if this could the cause of the change.  I have three children and with my first pregnancy I had my period the first three months, however not with the other two.  Does anyone have any advice for me on this?

You absolutely can not have an actual period while pregnant.  Some women however (myself included) do experience spotting or bleeding in first trimester of pregnancy.  There can be a number of reasons for this and should always be reported to your Dr.

The only way to know for certain if you are pregnant is to either do a home pregnancy test or have a blood test done.  The latter is the surest way to find out.

Even if you are always very regular, all of us can have an unusual cycle from time to time.  It can be caused by anything from a hormonal imbalance to stress or some medical issues.  Again, the only person that can tell you what is happening is your Dr.

Good luck to you!
