I was suprised that Whooping cough was still around, but I looked it up about a few weeks ago, and there was several cases in Milwaukee where I live (most seemed to be at a local high school) so I'd rather be safe than sorry, too, and have the vaccine.

Had the flu shot and whooping cough a few hours after my daughter was born

I think it depends on the nurse who administers the shot.  I had both already and only slight discomfort.  No bumps or anything.  You should get it in your dominant arm and move your arm a lot that day.  Not a big deal at all.  You'll deal with much worse for baby's arrival.

I had to get the flu shot at my job, or else I would let go (seems ridiculous). I ended up getting influenza A (flu). The ER Dr told me that the flu shot was very ineffective this season (like was mentoned above, because of the strains it didn't cover.)
Nothing like being pregnant & having the flu!

I got it at 28 weeks, didn't hurt at all until the next day. I ended up with a ping pong size ball on my arm where I was given the shot. Couldn't move my arm or even sleep on that side for over a week. Was thankful when that pain finally went away. I also refuse the yearly flu shot, no good.

I had it with my first 2 yrs ago. So did my husband, mom and dad.  I will be getting it again at one of my next appointments. My arm got a little sore, but that is very common for IM shots.

I had my TDaP and I was perfectly fine. By the next day my arm wasn't even sore. No sickness. My bf had his last Wednesday and his arm still hurts. I think it depends on who does it and where they stick you.
I refuse the flu shot. They said it turned out to be only 23% effective anyway. They guessed the wrong strain.

I had it to weeks ago and for about a week I had a huge sore lump that hurt when it was bumped. But with the number of whooping cough outbreaks that have happened recently I qould go through it again to make sure my baby is as safe as I can make her.

I had the whooping cough jab and was absolutely fine. My arm wasn't even sore and it was sore after the flu jab.
