ultrasound scan at late term

Is it safe to have an ultrasound scan at week 38 and what will warrant a doctor's scan request at this stage

Yes its safe. I never went full term with my first pregnancy but i had a level 2 ultrasound done at 35weeks with my son.

I had one at 36 weeks to check the babys growth.

Or maybe he is just checking the babies growth. Im having one on Thursday, doctor said hes just checking his growth. Im also 38 weeks.

It's safe,maybe the baby isn't turning ,a breach baby
