Hello Ladies

Hi ladies,

I've wanted to be supportive and try to keep up with what is going on but with the short hours I have on the net I haven't been able to.  So I really just wanted to check in, give you all an up date and see how you are doing.  

Jacob and me are doing great. He is feeding well but only from the left breast.  Because of this my right breast has started to dry up and I'm a little lop sided.  I'm going to pump more often and hopefully that will straighten things out.  I also hope once we get past this stage, he will feed from broth sides.  

Being a mom is wonderful.  Breast feeding has been the most stressful part of it. You just never know if he is getting enough and each feeding you stress over whether or not he will latch on and for how long.  I keep a log of how often and how long he feeds along with every pee and poo.  I don't know if other mothers do this or if I'm being a little anal.  I can be that way sometimes :0)

So how is everyone doing?  Anything new going on?  Reno, nylena, montie, daisney and MsAnybody... you ladies are getting close.  Are you ready?  How are you feeling?  Any signs of labor coming?  Effacement, contractions or dilated?

Thanks for all the wonderful complements.  Jacob is wonderful and just adorable I must say.  Everytime I look at him he gets more and more adorable.  

Mel, The breast feeding is difficult but getting easier everyday... try to stick it out past the first couple of weeks and I think it will be okay.  Pumping isn't bad.  Just one more thing on the list of stuff to do.  Kind of a pain but doesn't take long.  At night, I set my alarm for every 3 hours.  Sometimes he wakes me up before that.  I've never been one who needed a bunch of sleep, so it hasnt' been too bad but he is an only child so I don't have anything else going on.  Today he is 11 days old.  I feel pretty good over all.  My feet and joints are sore but other than that pretty good.  I didn't have any tearing but I did have some hemorrhoids before delivery that got HUGE afterward.  I had no idea that was even possible.  Luckily they go down pretty quick. After birth my face swelled up like a pumkin for a couple of days also.  My feet and ankles were also really swollen but that went away after about a week.  42% doesn't sound to far off the marker.  Try not to worry too much.  Good luck with your u/s.  I'll look for your update.  

patty, I snack on those little toes everyday :)  Gook luck with your 3 hour test...  Eat well!!

Saj, you take it easy and keep that little on in there as long as possible.  And believe me, I looked terrible the first week.  My head/face swelled up like a pumpkin for days.  It was awful..  

Reno, My water broke at only 1 cm dilated to it could happen at any moment.  Did you finish the nursery yet?

I still have 6 weeks to my EDD.  I saw my midwife today and she says I'm measuring good and baby feels like he is already head down. Let's hope he stays that way! Gained 26 lb so far... How much did you loose soon after birth?

It is so good to hear from you.  I love your pictures, you look like a woman at complete peace! Little Jacob is precious!  I am so ready to have this baby. I can't wait til it's me posting my pictures!!

I'm still terrifed of trying the breast feeding and I haven't bought a pump yet.  I thought I would wait to see how it goes.

Thanks for the update. How amazing to be able to finally meet your little boy after he was inside your tummy all curled up for so long! He is so cute! I love the picture where you are looking at his face - its beautiful.

Hi Hannah -

So glad that you and Jacob are doing well - I hope Noah and I do as good!  Try not to stress too much about the breastfeeding.  I remember that I got mastitis (joy) when my ds was 3 weeks old and he could only nurse on boob so I did keep up the pumping and eventually I did get milk back although it took a great deal of patience.  You sound wonderful and your baby boy's darling! - jen (now 30 weeks - yeah!)

Hi Hannah - glad to hear little man is doing well!!  Abby on the other hand seems to be in there for the long haul.  At this rate, I think she is planning on home schooling from my tummy - little stinker.  We had our weekly check up this week - still at about 80-90% effaced and MAYBE about 1 cm dilated - big friggin whoopie - if we make our appt next week, then they will set a date to induce - Hubby is just keeping his fingers crossed she comes in Feb - he really has his heart set on sharing a birth month with his little girl - say a little prayer for us - I'm off to try to find a friend with a trampoline - lol

OMG..He is absolutely adorable. You both should be on the cover of Parent magazine. You look fantastic! Are you sure you just gave birth? I am so jealous, I have been so ,miserable and I am only at 32 1/2 weeks almost. Luckily I usual go early, but I am suppose to take it easy for the next 2 wks, and after that they will not stop labor if I go. I can hardly grocery shop but I guess it will be soon enough. I am glad you al are doing well and again you look great!

Hi Hannah!

Jacob is so cute! I bet you just wanna eat his lil toes all day!! I'm glad everything is going well, My sis only breastfed with one breast too and pumped the other. It worked out fine as I'm sure it will for you too once you get in the groove of things! It takes time!!

I'm doing well other then this stupid sugar thing, I have to go back in for the 3 hour test next week after I do a 3 day very controlled diet plan they set me up on. Won't know nothing more until then! Brayden is doing well, kicks are getting stronger every day! He must be growing something fierce in there, my son feels him moves and says EWW Mom, you feel like a snake that has just ate a rat that is still alive in there! Oh what imagination of a 10 year old!! I tell him he needs to be careful because secretly I am a snake and if he isn't good I'll eat him too. =o/

You take care of yourself and that lil one and nibble a toe for me!! =)

Hi Hannah... I am glad all is going well... I am so worried about nursing.. even more so having a c section.  I hope I can.  

How is pumping going?  How long does it take to pump?  Are you still sore from birth?  How old is Jacob now?  a week two?

I am doing good.  I have to go in next Friday for another u/s.  They are a little worried about the babies growth.  She was 42 percentile a month ago and they want to make sure it doesn't go any lower.  A precaution because I have hight b/p.  I hope she is growing.  

How is sleep going for you?  How long does he sleep at night?

Are you going to stay home full time or go back to work?

oh... how nice... sounds like he is a good baby.  Thank you for the update I was wondering how you were doing with him. Its such a stressful time anyway. I just love that one picture of you and him... you can really see how much in love you are... puts a big smile on my face to think... I cant wait......

I wouldnt worry much... Im sure the right side will fall into place... maybe start him out on right side first for a while.. ?  good luck
